Modern Family star Julie Bowen says she’s on a hiatus from the dating world — but there is one person for whom she’d make an exception.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Julie revealed that she fancies Harry Styles and would relish the opportunity to cozy up with him.

The 51-year-old actress remarked that she is “very single” but has taken a sabbatical from dating because she hasn’t been impressed by the list of available bachelors. “I did go on some dates and this guy was like ‘You have to come to my house because I have a dog.’ And I was like, ‘I’m getting a dog, that’s the trick.’ Now it’s on my terms,” she laughed, adding that her new pooch is a “retirement gift.”

When teased by guest host Adam Devine about her secret crush on the British pop star, Julie readily admitted she’d give up the single life for him in a heartbeat. “You’re asking me if I’d come out of [dating] retirement for Harry Styles? Oh, hell yeah. Him? Look at him,” she gushed, calling him “gorgeous and sexy.”

Referring to the 27-year-old’s summertime hit, Julie added, “He’s just bringing the joy and the light and the “Watermelon Sugar”. You just feel good about the whole experience.”

Unfortunately, she will have to wait her turn because Harry is in a reported relationship with actress Olivia Wilde.

Harry Styles & Grupo Firme Are Playing the Same Day at Coachella — & the Internet Has Jokes About It

img]

Coachella is becoming a multicultural fan’s dream of musical diversity, now more than ever. If there’s one thing that Coachella’s known for, it’s for the unusual artist pairing photo opportunities that come out of each weekend. It teases fans who quickly wish for run-ins and even collaborations — which is the same wishful thinking once they saw both Harry Styles and Grupo Firme on this year’s Friday, April 15 and April 22, 2022 bill.

Fans instantly started joking about the what if’s if these artists were to meet, watch each other’s set, or work on a potential collaboration. Others are envisioning how Harry Styles would react to Grupo Firme’s hit songs. Honestly, with Harry Styles’ eclectic wardrobes, we would not be surprised in a matching norteño fit. Who wouldn’t want to see Harry Styles all vaquerito? How would the popular norteño band react to Harry Styles on stage with them?

A Twitter user commented: “HARRY STYLES WHEN HE FOUND OUT HE WILL BE PLAYING THE SAME DAY AS GRUPO FIRME IN COACHELLA.”

Another Twitter user laughs imagining the way Styles could potentially react to hearing Grupo Firme perform “Cada Vez Te Extraño Más.”

Mashups of the “Watermelon Sugar” singer dancing to different Grupo Firme songs were a-plenty. Especially those featuring him wearing a cowboy outfit. And we loved each and every one of them.

Others have even added a Grupo Firme song to a video that shows Harry Styles wearing a cowboy outfit in a past performance.

…. Others are making up scenes on how Harry Styles is “preparing” for the banda’s set.

The Twitter-verse is laughing their heads off with hilarious tweets that will only make sense to those who are enthusiasts of both Latine music and mainstream pop culture. Twitter users are hoping for a once-in-a-lifetime appearance of both popular acts together on the same stage. In hindsight, it most likely is the only major festival capable of bringing both of these acts together.

I never thought I would see the day that grupo firme and Harry styles would both play at the same event… — Guadalupe (@guadalupayee) January 13, 2022

Seriously, we can’t get enough of these memes. And with everything that’s been happening in the world, this would not be the wildest thing ever!

Jokes aside, we are excited for the potential collaborations that will spark during the two weekends of Coachella. We are hoping for many Latine tracks and crossovers. Especially since this year, there are more Latine artists performing than usual, so that’s already a great way to start off 2022!

UMPG’s Mike McCormack on Harry Styles: ‘The guy is a superstar’

UMPG’s Mike McCormack on Harry Styles: ‘The guy is a superstar’

Universal Music Publishing Group UK managing director Mike McCormack has spoken to Music Week about the global success of Harry Styles as a solo artist.

Earlier this week, McCormack delivered his message to rivals including Hipgnosis with the words: “We’re building the catalogues of the future”.

Harry Styles is central to that mission at UMPG, along with co-writer Kid Harpoon who’s also signed to the company, which was recently named Publisher Of The Year category at the Music Week Awards.

Although Fine Line by Harry Styles was released in late 2019, it still finished at No.7 in the US last year based on digital and physical sales (317,000). It was the fourth biggest seller of 2021 on vinyl in the US (256,000).

In the UK, Fine Line was No.12 overall last year (178,527 including streaming equivalent sales). It has total sales to date of 543,797.

In his exclusive interview for the latest issue of Music Week, Mike McCormack said: “A bugbear of mine is that we produce so much great, innovative music in the UK, but where are the superstars? Where is the next Adele or Ed Sheeran? And [signing Styles] was one of the first decisions made when I got here. Jody [Gerson, UMPG chairman and CEO] was instrumental in the deal as well. We just went, ‘The guy is a superstar, and they are so few and far between that we have to do everything we can to convince him to sign to us.’ Thankfully, he did.

“[Fine Line] has proved he can stand on his own two feet and be an original artist in his own right. I hear [his next record] is coming together very well and hopefully, it will be even bigger, better and more successful than the last, which was an extraordinary success. He’s very much in charge of his destiny.”

Harry Styles is very much in charge of his destiny Mike McCormack

Harry Styles is in good company at UMPG, which also signed Adele early in her career.

McCormack was deputy MD when the BRIT School graduate signed on the dotted line with the company as a 17-year-old.

“Obviously, she had an incredible voice,” he told Music Week. “She didn’t have Chasing Pavements – she only really had four songs, if I remember correctly – but she had Hometown Glory. She also had Daydreamer and a couple of others. But what we saw was somebody who had an incredible voice and was unique – she was very funny and her personality was amazing. She was totally magnetic live, an absolutely extraordinary, one-off artist.”

A number of those tracks found their way on to Adele’s 2008 debut, 19, while UMPG helped pair her with writers such as Eg White and Sacha Skarbek.

“Eg White co-wrote Chasing Pavements with her and that just blew us all away,” said McCormack. “Even we couldn’t believe just how good she was. We knew she was really good, but we didn’t know she was that good. It’s almost like she cracked the code. That approach – she works with Greg Kurstin and others now – really brought out the best in her and she has turned into a superstar.”

Stevie Nicks Wants Harry Styles for Her ‘Rhiannon’ Inspired Fantasy Series

img]

Stevie Nicks has expressed her love of Harry Styles’ music on more than one occasion. She’s compared his album Fine Line to Fleetwood Mac’s seminal album, Rumours, and praised his decision to create songs that evoke ’70s rock. Evidently, though, she’s a fan of more than just his music. Nicks wants to capitalize on Styles’ burgeoning acting career and have him star in a TV series based on the song “Rhiannon.”

Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles have formed a friendship

After meeting backstage at a Fleetwood Mac concert, Nicks and Styles became fast friends. The pair have performed together and praised one another’s music. Nicks thinks of the young singer as her love child with bandmate Mick Fleetwood.

“He’s Mick [Fleetwood] ’s and my love child,” she told Rolling Stone. “When Harry came into our lives, I said, ‘Oh my God, this is the son I never had.’ So I adopted him.”

In 2019, Styles inducted Nicks into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In his speech, he spoke about how much her music meant to him as a child and the importance of her friendship now.

“She is more than a role model — she’s a beacon to all of us,” he said, per Us Weekly. “Whenever you hear her voice, life gets a little bit better. When she sings, the world is hers, and it is yours. She is everything you’ve ever wanted in a lady, in a lover, in a friend.”

She wants Harry Styles to star in her upcoming TV series

In 1973, Nicks wrote the song “Rhiannon” about a Welsh deity. After the song gained popularity, a fan sent her author Evangeline Walton’s books about the folklore. Hooked, Nicks bought the rights to the books with the goal of making a movie. Further along the development road, however, it was decided that the story would function better as a miniseries.

In 2020, Nicks signed on with a studio and set aside ten songs for the project. She told the LA Times that Styles is “definitely in the running” for a starring role.

“There’s an amazing part for Harry,” she told Vogue. “My favorite character in the series is the only man who goes through all four books. He’s a magician who doesn’t wanna be king, and I think Harry would just be so perfect.”

Nicks believes she has a solid chance of getting Styles for the part.

“I’m going, ‘Harry, you cannot age one day. You have to stay exactly as you are,’” she said. “I’ve already sold him on it.”

While the project is a long way from fruition, fans of Styles and Nicks can remain hopeful for this new form of collaboration between them in the future.

Stevie Nicks does not like acting

Though Nicks is the driving force behind this project, she said any onscreen involvement would be limited to “riding by on a white horse or something.” Nicks is a seasoned performer, but she does not like acting. She appeared on American Horror Story, but she described the whole experience as terrifying.

“I was pretty terrified. Honestly. I did not sleep well,” she told the LA Times. “Yvonne, I was scared to go there. When I went in the next day, I thought, I’m never going to be able to do this.”

Though she did make it through her scenes, there’s little chance of Nicks stepping in front of the camera for her TV series.
