Thomas Rhett + Wife Lauren Say Adopting Another Child Is ‘100 Percent on Our Brains’ Down the Line

Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, became parents for the first time in 2017 when they brought home their daughter, Willa Gray, whom they adopted from Uganda. Five years later, Willa is a bouncing, energetic 6-year-old and the oldest of the couple’s four children.

The couple’s youngest daughter, Lillie Caroline, arrived in November 2021. Rhett says they’ve talked about more children, and adopting again is something he and Lauren would like to do in the future.

“Yes, adoption is 100 percent on our brains in the next four to five years. We would love to do that,” Rhett tells Taste of Country and other outlets.

Thomas and Lauren aren’t the only ones in the family who’d welcome another adopted family member. “Willa Gray talks about it all the time,” the singer continues. “It’s something that … it’s been put very heavily on our hearts to do that again. We just don’t really know when.”

With four young children in the house, including a newborn, Rhett says that they won’t make any moves towards adding more kids to the family anytime soon.

“We’ll see what happens in the next five or six years, but we’re definitely gonna take a small break from trying to have babies right now,” he notes.

That’s a decision that he and Lauren made together as they juggle their young family, which also includes 4-year-old Ada James and almost 2-year-old Lennon Love.

“Right now, with four under six, I think Lauren and I were really honest with each other. We were just like, ‘Let’s take a pause for four or five years and kinda get the hang of what this is gonna look like.’”

Just because Chris Stapleton isn’t in The SteelDrivers anymore, doesn’t mean the Nashville bluegrass band isn’t worth your time. In fact, the quintet won its first Grammy award (Best Bluegrass Album) with the current lineup in 2015, five years after Stapleton left.See that talent for yourself when the band’s banjo, fiddle and mandolin playing comes to Capitol Theatre where it last played in 2019. The downtown Clearwater venue recommends masks, but you know you should probably bust out that K-95 if you want to avoid omicron.

Bruce Dickinson confirms Iron Maiden will perform ‘Senjutsu’ in full at smaller venues

Similar to their A Matter of Life and Death Tour

Bruce Dickinson has once again confirmed that Iron Maiden plan to perform their entire 82-minute ‘Senjutsu’ album on an intimate tour of “smaller venues.”

Last August, Dickinson first revealed to Revolver Magazine that Iron Maiden were considering a ‘Senjutsu’ tour similar to their A Matter of Life and Death Tour in 2006, which saw them perform their critically acclaimed ‘A Matter of Life and Death’ album in full.

He said last summer: “Looking forward, we all love this record (‘Senjutsu’) so much we’re like, ‘Maybe we should go out and do a smaller-scale tour where we do the whole album, and have the really hardcore Maiden fans who love it turn up?’”

In a new interview with Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho, Dickinson reiterated Iron Maiden’s ambitions to perform ‘Senjutsu’ from start to finish.

He said: “The plan we’ve got, I mean it’s not really a secret - I think everybody else has chatted about it. We will, I hope, we’ve talked about doing the entire (‘Senjutsu’) album start to finish but not this time around.

“We all appreciate that that is something that really diehard fans will probably love, and other people will go, ‘I’m not gonna go see that.’ So the answer is you play smaller venues so that they sell out with just your diehard fans because it’s a musical thing to do. It’s a musical thing.”

Dickinson continued: “But the Legacy Of The Beast Tour, people have all paid their money to see the Legacy Of The Beast show with Spitfires and flamethrowers and Icarus and everything that goes with. So, they’re gonna get all that. But the first three tracks (on the Legacy of the Beast Tour in 2022) are probably going be the first three tracks on the album (‘Senjutsu’, ‘Stratego’ and ‘The Writing on the Wall’).

“‘The Writing On The Wall’ they already know, so everybody should know the first three tracks. And I just think ‘Senjutsu’ is just such a great opening song. So dramatic. And then once you’ve done that — and we’ll have a stage set to go with it — once you’ve done that, you’re back to the kind of ‘Legacy’ world at that point. But I think ‘The Writing On The Wall’ is gonna be a great song; a crowd singalong song. You can imagine that. It’ll be fantastic.”

Dickinson added: “It’s such a great record as well, when you’ve got a record that’s as good (as ‘Senjutsu’), you’ve just got to do it.

“Nobody has to buy a ticket. If you don’t want to go, you don’t buy a ticket. It’s gonna be plain as the nose on your face. This is gonna be what they’re gonna do. So given that, don’t complain that they did what they said they were gonna do. Anyway, never mind.”

‘Senjutsu’ was recorded at Paris’ Guillaume Tell Studio with longterm producer Kevin ‘The Caveman’ Shirley, and Iron Maiden founder and sole constant member Steve Harris on co-production.

Iron Maiden headline Download Festival on Saturday 11th June 2022 as part of their Legacy of the Beast Tour alongside their fellow bill-toppers KISS and Biffy Clyro.

Earlier this month, Bruce Dickinson revealed he was planning to resume work on his first solo album since 2005’s ‘Tyranny of Souls’ this spring with his frequent collaborator Roy Z.
