Georgia Tech teams captured the top two prizes in the Atlanta Bike Challenge. GTRI’s Thighs won first place, and ISyE Crew won second place. Tech also captured first place among workplaces with more than 2,000 employees. In the challenge, riders form teams and compete against other workplaces for who can log the most miles and get new cyclists to join.

GTRI’s Thighs’ first place win brought the top trophy back to campus for the first time since 2019. In 2020, GTRI’s Thighs lost to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by just 5 points. Georgia Tech, with three of the top five teams in the challenge (GTRI’s Thighs, ISyE Crew, and Vicious Cycles), was the top organization competing. Atlanta was second in the U.S., behind Portland, Oregon.

“The state of Georgia came in fifth in the nation,” said team member Joshua Forester, who works in the CIPHER lab. “Not bad considering we are competing with California, Texas, and Florida, which are in a different population category.”

Members of GTRI’s Thighs are: Jason Bryan, Kellen Denny, Joshua Forester, Jett Marks, Abby Perry, Kit Plummer, John Rose, and Josh Wells.

Texas RB Bijan Robinson Goes Viral For Having Massive Tree Trunk Legs

It would be a surprise if Texas’ Bijan Robinson is not in the Heisman conversation this fall.

The junior running back is an incredible talent and his massive legs, that have recently gone viral, are what fuels his success.

Texas running back Bijan Robinson enters the 2022 college season as a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate. The Arizona-native will be a junior in the fall and is poised to become a household name if he is not already.

Robinson, a former five-star recruit, was the No. 1 player at his position in the Class of 2020. His ceiling is tremendous and he will likely be a first round draft pick in the spring if his production from his first two years in Austin continues.

As a sophomore in 2021, Robinson ran for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns on 195 carries, which is an average of 5.8 yards per touch. He also added 11.3 yards per catch on 26 receptions with four touchdowns.

A year prior, he burst onto the scene as a freshman. He averaged 8.2 yards per touch on limited touches and immediately became a name to watch on the national level.

Robinson has a stout, lean frame with well-proportioned weight, a great burst to hit the second level hard and is elusive when he breaks free in the open field. At 6-foot-0, 214 pounds, he is incredibly strong.

A picture from Texas’ offseason workout has recently gone viral. In the photo, Robinson’s legs look like tree trunks.

His quad muscles have muscles and his thighs are bigger than his own head. Literally.

Remember, Robinson is only 19 years old. He turns 20 on January 30, 2022. Goodness.

Travis St. instead of the usual spot at the historic La Villita. Linda Brewster, the festival’s founder, said “The growth of at-home coffee brewing hit a record high during the pandemic, and San Antonio was no exception, so we are grateful that we were able to work with the city to remain in downtown and provide a large open space to accommodate and support the many new coffee businesses here.” Depending on the construction, Brewster expects the festival to return to La Villita in the future. This year’s family-friendly festival will feature food, music, art activities and of course, lots of java! VIP and general admission tickets are on sale now. throughout Texas.

“While innovative retailers like H-E-B have carried Halal meat and poultry products in the past, the integrity of much-sought-after Halal hand-cut raises the bar,” said Huthyfah Abed, executive national sales director for Crescent Foods. “While shopping at H-E-B stores, we are proud to provide the opportunity for Muslim-American guests to complete their shopping experience with freshly stocked Crescent Foods products,” Abed added.

What Abed is referring to is that Crescent Foods offers the “gold standard” of Halal, meaning Halal hand-cut products—in which machines and recordings are not used to cut corners during the harvesting process. Crescent Foods’ own teams ensure animals are handled by trained, qualified professionals who help to minimize discomfort and stress for animals. According to the company, these practices uphold the integrity of Halal hand-cut tradition, and to ensure resulting products are simple, clean, and pure. With third-party Halal verification and a certification process, Crescent Foods further instills confidence for customers and consumers, alike.

Featured Crescent Foods’ products at select H-E-B stores include:

No-Antibiotics-Ever Chicken: whole fresh, 8-piece cut-up, boneless skinless breasts, breast tenders, boneless skinless thighs, drumsticks, ground; marinated cilantro-, southwest-, and shawarma-flavored breast fillets; and frozen, value-added chicken, which includes breaded tenders, chicken nuggets, and individual breast fillets.

Grass Fed and Finished Beef: stew meat, ribeye and strip loin steaks, chuck roast, ground.

Grass Fed and Finished Lamb: stew meat, loin chop, shoulder cut, and ground.

Story continues

To commemorate the new partnership, consumers will find Texas-style appetizers, like chicken quesadillas and faux fried chicken and mac-n-cheese, on the Crescent Foods website, just in time for winter entertaining and the lead-up to Super Bowl season.
