Why ‘Blue Bloods’ Fans Have So Many Questions About the Latest Season 12 Episode
]
First, Lyle Lovett rejoined the cast of Blue Bloods as Texas Ranger Waylon Gates in the first episode of 2022. And now, Jimmy Buffett is making his NYC crime-time debut.
In a teaser for this week’s new episode of Blue Bloods, Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (played by Marisa Ramirez) are dolled up while out at a seemingly fancy restaurant. After clinking wine glasses, Danny remarks that Jimmy Buffett is sitting at the bar, to which Baez nudges him to go say hello. After doing so, the clip cuts to Danny on the boardwalk, chasing down Buffett, only to request his ID, and call him out on his identity.

While this back and forth would prompt most fans to wonder if Jimmy is playing himself on the show or is meant to be a lookalike trying to get by as the famous “Margaritaville” singer, all fans can remark on are Danny and Baez. “The question is why are they out in fancy clothes together,” one fan excitedly asked in the comments section of the Instagram post. “They better be out on a date,” another fan exclaimed. “So Danny and Maria eh?” someone else wrote, accompanied by a side-eye emoji. “Are we just going to ignore what looks like Reagan and [Baez] on a date?” another fan asked.
And the comments just kept coming. While we won’t know the backstory until January 14, given past remarks by the show’s creators (not to mention the actors themselves ), it’s most likely that the two were undercover on an assignment—not suddenly together on a date.
But hey — we can hope!

Out of all the stories that are mentioned in here, we imagine that the Erin one is the only one that could have long-term ramifications. She’s had the most serialized story this season as she contemplates a run for District Attorney. We do think that eventually, she could decide to go through with it, and we could see a further exploration of that campaign both at the end of the season and then also the fall, provided Blue Bloods is renewed. We’ll just have to see how things unfold there!

The Frank Reagan Scene That Went Too Far In Blue Bloods
As played by the iconic Tom Selleck, NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan functions as the dependable, gruff patriarch of the Irish-American Reagan family in “Blue Bloods,” several generations of which serve the New York area as police officers and law enforcement officials. The Reagans sometimes have their differences but the family always gets together for Sunday night dinners regardless, usually hosted by Frank in his house.
A third-generation police officer, Frank Reagan began his career in the 1970s and slowly made his way up the ranks to police commissioner. He loves his job but is often unsure of how to navigate political boondoggles and the pressures of the work. Still, Frank is depicted as having the trust of both the department and the public.
But like other characters on the series, Frank has also dirtied his hands and is an imperfect human being. Here’s the one Frank Reagan scene that arguably went too far for some fans.

The Blue Bloods Season 10 Moment That Shocked Fans
Over the years, the crime procedural “Blue Bloods” has dealt several shocking blows to fans. The long-running drama, which centers around a New York City family dedicated to serving and protecting the city, has dealt with multiple forms of lawbreaking in its run so far. With a complex web of both the personal and professional relationships and conflicts of the multi-generational family, there are many moments that leave fans with their jaws on the floor.
In the very first season finale, the Reagans bring down the Blue Templars for several crimes, but mainly for killing Joe Reagan, Frank Reagan’s (Tom Selleck) late son. With the involvement of dirty cops and Frank dismissing Internal Affairs, the episode is a nail-biting watch. Things only get more interesting from here on out, with several episodes in Season 3 and 4, for example, dialing up the tension onscreen with Reagan family members in danger trying to catch notorious criminals.
Season 10, which got cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions (via Deadline), still manages to fit a whole gamut of incidents that make the show exciting. In particular, Season 10 has moments that make several professional cases very personal for the Reagan family members, and the fans picked out one specific moment like this that shocked them the most.
