Jimmy Hart has given an update on Hulk Hogan following reports that the WWE legend was dealing with “really bad health issues”.

Back in November, while speaking about his own health problems, Ric Flair revealed on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast that Hulk Hogan was dealing with issues of his own having reportedly had multiple back surgeries and hip replacements over the course of the last few years.

“He’s having some really bad health issues but he keeps up with me. We support each other, good and bad. When I was in the hospital he flew up that day like everybody else that came up to see me…Hulk was gracious, Jimmy Hart was great. I don’t remember seeing them because I was in a coma but they made the effort to go. Those are the kind of things that mean a lot.”

Now, Hogan’s longtime friend and manager, Jimmy Hart, has provided an update on the WWE Hall of Famer’s condition during an appearance on ‘Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw’. Hart says Hogan is taking therapy every week and doing a lot better.

“Well, he’s doing a lot better. Still, after 12 back surgeries, hips, and knees, he’s doing so much better. He’s been taking this therapy every week and it’s been really improving him more and more so he can get up and get about pretty good now.

Hart then added that the ‘Hulkster’ looks as good as ever and is still in top form in interviews.

“He still looks good. He always has the hair and has the tan. His upper body is unbelievable. He always looks the part. He can still do an interview at the drop of a hat. He knows what to say and when to say it. He is such a magnet. People love him no matter where we go. It’s crazy.”

Jacques Rougeau Recalls Slapping Hulk Hogan So Hard His Tooth Loosened

Jacques Rougeau recalls the promo segment leading to their infamous match at the Molson Centre that saw Hulk Hogan’s tooth loosened by an excited slap!

During his time in WCW in 1997, Jacques Rougeau had the rare honor of getting to defeat then WCW World Heavyweight Champion in a non-title match in his hometown of Montreal, Quebec during a show he ran for his own promotion.

Speaking to Inside the Ropes’ Keith Elliot Greenberg for issue 15 of Inside the Ropes Magazine, the former Mountie recounted how an angle leading up to their match at the Molson Centre saw him slap Hulk Hogan so hard that he inadvertently loosened one of the Hulkster’s teeth.

“We built up the match really good. All the press was there when he came into the airport, and before he got in his limo, I did an angle where I slapped him in the face. I was excited and I did it so hard, I loosened his tooth.”

Despite this mishap, Hogan showed respect for everything the Rougeau family had done in Montreal and insisted on losing to his opponent, which was out of character for the World Champion.

“But when we got to the building, he said he wanted to do the job for me. I thought he was joking. But he meant it. I let him beat me up the whole match, and then, I won with a small package. The place went crazy. Everyone still remembers it. Hulk told me he did it because of everything the Rougeau family contributed to wrestling in Montreal.”

While respect for the Rougeaus certainly played a part in Hogan’s decision, Rougeau revealed the Hulkster’s manager Jimmy Hart had another idea of why his client may have decided to put over the Quebec native.

“But Jimmy Hart said Hulk Hogan respected me for what happened with Dynamite Kid, how it just stopped all the terrible ribbing that was going on. Because a guy like Dynamite, being on steroids and everything, he could have ribbed Hulk, too.”

Jacques Rougeau has spoken in the past about the fact that Hulk Hogan was not a fan of the attitude of the British Bulldogs, the tag team comprised of Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith.

Hogan caused the same waves when he appeared for TNA (now IMPACT Wrestling) back in the company’s early days. Back in the 2000s, TNA was causing viewers to switch from WWE to TNA because of their fresh homemade talents.

Eventually, this drew a lot of ratings for the promotion and the company thought they could take on WWE in head-to-head ratings. However, everything fell apart when Hogan left the company high and dry.

Back in 2010, Eric Bischoff introduced the Hulkster to the TNA fans as a way of indicating changes in the company. The fans couldn’t hold their excitement as this was the time when TNA hired WWE legends like Ric Flair, Booker T, Christian Cage, and many more.

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett recently addressed the situation of Hogan leaving the company abruptly. Speaking on his podcast, ‘My World With Jeff Jarrett’, he confessed that it was all worth it.

He noted that before hiring Hogan, he knew that this could happen that Hogan would decide to leave the company. Jarrett termed this move as “risk versus reward” ratio and claimed that it was all worth it.

“I’m a believer and probably get this from my father and grandmother, the risk versus reward. Was it worth taking the risk and knowing we could get, not 50, not 70, not 95 but a 100% egg on our face? Was it worth taking the risk? Absolutely,” he confessed.

Hulk Hogan had a ‘so-so’ run in TNA

Hogan had a few matches in the promotion, but they all were underwhelming as he was way past his prime. Eventually, his matches with Sting and Ric Flair fell to the wayside.

Plus, multiple younger talents on the roster were not happy with this decision because Hogan would take the limelight and often abuse his political powers backstage. No wonder why Hogan’s stint in TNA is not popular in the wrestling business. What’s your take on this?

The 56-year-old would feature on the list of top all-time performers for many wrestling fans.

And his undefeated WrestleMania streak is unlikely to ever be matched again.

Recently he was speaking to Kevin Hart as part of the Laugh Out Loud Network and was asked who would be the four stars to feature on his Mount Rushmore.

The Mount Rushmore of WWE is one of the most heavily debated topics in wrestling.

And when the Dead Man answered, he left out two of the biggest names to ever climb in the ring with him.

Undertaker said: “Andre (The Giant), Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and Shawn Michaels.”

Undoubtedly the four men were all some of the biggest icons to ever get into the squared-circle.

However, the absence of 16-time world champion Flair and Hogan did raise some eyebrows.

The Nature Boy enjoyed a 40 year wrestling career in multiple companies and headlined WCW’s Starrcade 10 times.

Hogan kickstarted the whole wrestling boom in the 1980s and became a worldwide star after breaking into the Hollywood movie scene.

He controversially left WWE for WCW in 1994 but returned to Vince McMahon’s company in 2002 and went on to face The Rock at WrestleMania X8 in one of the greatest matches of all-time.
