PETA Calls Out Kanye West and The Game for Using Skinned Monkey as New Song Artwork

The artwork for Kanye West and The Game’s new single, “Eazy,” which shows a skinned monkey, has PETA pissed off.

President of the animal rights organization, Ingrid Newkirk, issued a statement to Billboard on Friday (Jan. 14), slamming the duo for promoting and sharing the images via social media.

“The photo is reminiscent of the monkeys PETA has found, sometimes heads, sometimes hands, sometimes the whole body, in meat markets around the world and it makes it clear that when you remove the fur you can’t miss that there’s a person in there, that they are fellow primates, and do not belong to us to abuse for any purpose—not in laboratories, roadside zoos, movies, or meat markets,” the statement reads.

Ye and Game put out their new single of Friday afternoon, hours after it was slated to drop. The artists shared artwork promoting the single on social media, which depicts a monkey that is hanging from its arms that has had its skin removed, the bloody skull and muscles fully visible.

XXL has reached out to reps for Kanye West and The Game for comment.

Aside from the shocking cover art, the song made headlines for Kanye taking a shot at his estranged wife’s new boyfriend, Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson. On the record, which is produced by Hit-Boy, Mike Dean, Big Duke, DJ Premier and Cash Jones, Ye raps, “God saved me from that crash/Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass (Who?).”

The last few days have been eventful for Kanye, to say the least. He is also accused of striking a man who approached him for an autograph in Los Angeles on Thursday (Jan. 13).

For almost a week, fans have been heavily teased with small doses of a new collaboration with The Game and Kanye West. In addition to videos and snapshots of the duo in the studio (with a pleasantly surprising appearance from Hit-Boy, one of the song’s producers), Wack 100 and others have taken to social media to drop off snippets of the anticipated record.

Finally, we are all able to hear the booming track — titled “Eazy” — in its entirety, which is sure to draw in controversy due to lines by Ye about his soon to be ex-wife and her family, Julia Fox, a certain comedian, and pretty much everything you’ve speculated about due to recent headlines:

“Nigga, we havin’ the best divorce ever, if we go to court, we’ll go to court together, matter of fact, pick up your sis’, we’ll go to Kourt’s together … noncustodial dad, I bought the house next door, what you think the point of really bein’ rich for? When you give ’em everything they only want more, boujee and unruly, y’all need to do some chores, rich ass kids, this ain’t yo mama’s house, climb on your brother’s shoulders, get that top ramen out, God saved me from that crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass (Who?)…”

Interestingly enough, Ye recently sat down with Jason Lee for Hollywood Unlocked, where he delved further into the aforementioned topics — including why he would purchase a residence across the street from Kim Kardashian:

“My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule. That’s why I even got the house … [It was] flipped into there was something wrong with me getting a house next to my kids.”

Fans and critics alike can press play on both The Game and Kanye West‘s “Eazy,” as well as the aforementioned interview with Hollywood Unlocked, below.

Warning: this article contains explicit language.

Seems Kanye West is not so happy with Kim Kardashian’s new man.

The rapper, who recently changed his name to “Ye”, raps about beating up Pete Davidson in a new track called Eazy.

In the song, which features The Game, Kanye also talks about his divorce, love life, and relationship with his children.

Kanye West is laying it all bare in a new track alongside The Game.

In the song titled Eazy, the rapper sings about his divorce, his kids, and Kim Kardashian’s new boo.

Addressing his split from Kim Kardashian, Ye raps: “We having the best divorce ever. If we go to court, we go to court together. Matter fact, pick up your sis, we’ll go to Kourt’s together.”

But while he describes his divorce as the best ever, it seems the rapper is not so pleased with Kim’s new bae, comedian Pete Davidson.

“God saved me from that crash,” Kanye says, referring to his 2002 car accident, adding: “Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.”

But Kim is not the only one who has moved on. Kanye also briefly talks about his new relationship with Julia Fox, saying: “And my new bitch bad. I know Illuminati mad.”

Kanye also seems to address his relationship with his kids in the song. The rapper shares North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with Kim.

“I got love for the nannies, but real family is better. The camera’s watch the kids, y’all stop taking the credit,” he says in one line.

In another verse, he adds: “Non-custodial dad, I bought the house next door. What you think the point of really bein’ rich for? When you give them everything, they only want more. Boujee and unruly, y’all need to do some chores.”

Kanye West says his goal now is to control the sound of music as he readies his new song ahead of Donda 2. Ye shared a disturbing artwork to promote the new single.

The Donda rapper revealed that he is planning to drop a new track this week while on a FaceTime video chat with DJ Premier on Wednesday. West said the song will be released this week and hinted that Pusha T might be on it along with fellow rapper The Game.

Kanye’s last release was his 10th studio album Donda which was released in September last, and the album is up for Best Rap Album at the 64th Grammy Awards later this month.

Kanye West, in the meantime, has been busy as he teased that a sophomore album will follow up Donda, but he has also been making the rounds with various artists leading to fans speculating that his new music might be for the second album installation.

The rapper confirmed on the video chat with DJ Premier that new music might be coming sooner than Ye stans expect. The video of the call was posted by designer Tracey Mills where Kanye is heard telling Premier that he is his “inspiration.”

Before long, The Game and Pusha T, who were also in the studio, also joined in the conversation.

“We’re starting a whole…we about to just control the sound of music, it’s up to us now, period,” Kanye says to Premier before adding, “We got a song we’re releasing Friday that we wanted you to do a scratch on, if possible,” he asked.

Kanye has been seen frequently over the last few weeks with his girlfriend of 13 days, Julia Fox, and other artists, including Moneybagg Yo and Antonio Brown in Los Angeles.

Kanye West also shared a artwork for a new song while tagging The Game in the post on his Instagram. “My Life Was Never Eazy,” he wrote in all caps in the caption. The Game also shared the artwork which is quite disturbing since it shows a skinless ape.

This comes days after a video from their studio session surfaced showing Kanye rapping over a sample of the late Eazy-E’s 1988 classic “Eazy-Duz-It.”

Meanwhile, Police have also confirmed that West went under investigation for alleged assault.
