Monster Energy Supercross rolled in to San Diego’s Petco Stadium just one week after a hectic and unpredictable round in Oakland. What followed was another night of surprises and very close racing. In the end, there were first-time winners in both the 450 and 250 West classes. Chase Sexton brought home the long-anticipated victory in the 450 class with Eli Tomac in second. That was enough to give Tomac the red plate, but with Cooper Webb and Sexton only a point behind. In the 250 class, a first-turn crash took down points leader Christian Craig and threw the door open for a new winner. The race evolved into and intense battle between Michael Mosiman and Hunter Lawrence from start to finish. In the end, it was Mosiman who came out on top, but Craig still stole the show by cutting his way though the pack to finish third and retain the red plate.

Patrick Mahomes Hugs Josh Allen Immediately After The Bills Lose

If you have lived in Buffalo long enough, you have experienced some amazing heartbreak. I’m talking about the kind of heartbreak you only have in movies.

The four straight Super Bowl losses. No Goal. The Music City Miracle (aka: Home Run Throwback), Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final, 17 straight seasons without the playoffs, the Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans, and now, the 2021 AFC Divisional Round game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills lost a heartbreaking game, 42-36 in overtime, and the storylines of the night were questionable coaching decisions, the defense’s inability to stop the Chiefs on third down, and the man playing quarterback for the Bills, Josh Allen.

Allen completed 27 of 37 passes for 329 yards and 4 touchdowns – this coming off a historic “perfect” game where he threw for over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns without punts, 4th downs, or turnovers.

In fact, Allen’s two playoff games this month were the two greatest statistical playoff performances from an NFL quarterback in history.

Allen led what were seemingly two game-winning drives for the Bills, throwing a 27-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis with 1:54 left in regulation, then another 18-yard touchdown pass to Davis with 13 seconds left.

The Chiefs went all the way to the Bills 31-yard line to kick a game-tying field goal to send the game to overtime, only to lose the game on a coin flip, as the Chiefs scored a touchdown on the first possession.

After the loss, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes immediately ran to Allen before doing anything else to hug him and congratulate him on a great game.

The Bills lost because of their defense and coaching decisions. Josh Allen could not have possibly played any better, and neither could Mahomes.

This game exceeded the high expectations and gave NFL fans what is likely the greatest NFL playoff game in history.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — The same house was struck by two different cars, about a week apart from each other, according to first responders.

On Jan. 15 around 2:40 a.m., the Wanamassa Fire Company responded to a home along Bimbler Boulevard, where firefighters said a driver had lost control and left the road, struck a sign and then the house before ending up in Deal Lake.

The people inside the car managed to get out and only suffered minor injuries, fire officials said, while the unoccupied house suffered extensive structural damage.

A week later on Sunday just before 5 a.m., Wanamassa Fire Company was called to the same house, for a different vehicle that had left the road and crashed into the building - coming to rest inside.

While the house’s owners still had not yet moved in, the structural soundness of the home is now of major concern, fire officials said.

No word on what might have caused either crash as of Sunday evening.

NJ unlicensed driver charged in hit & run of Jersey City electric bicycle riders

JERSEY CITY — An unlicensed driver has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left an 18-year old who was on an electric bicycle seriously hurt, Hudson County authorities announced.

Marvin Lara, 39, of Jersey City, surrendered himself to detectives in Hudson County on Thursday.

Jersey City police had responded on Jan. 8 at 8:30 p.m. to the area of Summit Avenue and Jewett Avenue on reports of a hit-and-run crash involving an electric bicycle.

The driver did not stop and continued west on Jewett Avenue, witnesses said to police.

The 17-year-old operator of the electric bike and his 18-year-old male passenger were both taken to Jersey City Medical Center — as the 18-year-old suffered serious injury to his lower body.

An investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit found that the young men were hit by a Toyota RAV4 that was driven by Lara.

Lara has been charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim and causing serious bodily injury in a collision while being unlicensed.

He was also ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident, unlicensed driving and failure to report a motor vehicle accident.

Lara is slated to make his first court appearance on Feb. 28.
