Girl, 13, who felt sick had huge hairball in stomach the size of rugby ball
A schoolgirl who complained about feeling sick was shocked to discover she had a huge hairball in her stomach.
Melissa Williams, 13, from Liverpool, ended up with a mass the size of a rugby ball in her stomach after eating her own hair whenever she felt anxious.
Doctors were forced to cut the tangled hair into four sections before they could remove each one, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Her family is now speaking out about her condition, known as Rapunzel Syndrome, in a bid to raise awareness.
The hairball in Melissa’s stomach, which measured between eight and 10cm in diameter, was removed on October 1, 2021.
Mum Jackie Williams, 40, and dad, Gary Jones, 47, didn’t know anything was wrong until Melissa started complaining of severe stomach pains.

Jackie explained she took her daughter to and from the GP over the course of a year but “carried on persisting” when they told her that Melissa’s problems were due to anxiety.
She told The ECHO: “She was getting really badly bullied at school for three years and when she would get anxious she would pull out her own hair and eat it.
“The first things we noticed were that she was feeling and being sick, had poor appetite and lost about one stone in weight. I thought she had an eating disorder because she wasn’t eating.
“She started getting sent home from school a lot and asking not to go in because she felt sick, but because it was on the same day every week I thought it was a lesson she didn’t like.

“We were to and from the doctors about half a dozen times over the year but we carried on persisting.”
The pain got significantly worse over a two week period and Jackie decided to take Melissa to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Once at the hospital, doctors could feel Melissa’s stomach was tender. They then found a huge mass, but didn’t know what it was.
Jackie said: “They said they had never seen this before, they did an X-ray and they saw a big mass in her stomach but didn’t know what it was.
“It was actually my neighbour that said she read something years ago about people eating their hair, and that’s what it was.”

Melissa went into emergency surgery at Alder Hey where doctors had to cut the hairball into four sections before removing each of them with two hands, due to their weight.
Jackie continued: “The doctors said if we didn’t take Mel in when we did she might not have pulled through the surgery.
“She was relieved once the pain was gone and she was so brave.”
After the surgery, Melissa was in hospital for two weeks due to issues with her bloods and excess fluid in her stomach.
Melissa was then well enough to return home for four weeks before ending up in hospital again with three different infections.
Melissa does still pull out her hair sometimes but no longer eats it. She is being supported by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Now her family want to raise awareness of Rapunzel Syndrome and make sure other parents know the signs and symptoms to look out for.
Jackie said: “Parents should look out for any changes in their kids’ hair, and it’s not just the hair on their head. It can be eyelashes and eyebrows.
“Also any changes to eating, sickness and stomach pains are all symptoms.

“I’d also say that parents shouldn’t give up when going to the GP, If you know something is wrong with your child then keep going back, don’t give up and don’t take no for an answer.”
Rapunzel Syndrome is an extremely rare intestinal condition in humans resulting from ingesting hair. The syndrome is named after the long-haired girl Rapunzel in the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
This syndrome occurs when the trichobezoar (hairball) reaches past the small intestine, and sometimes even into the colon.
Characteristics of the syndrome include a hairball in the stomach, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting and a Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Colorado deputy with OnlyFans page retires with $30,000 settlement
]
ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A former Sheriff’s Deputy in Colorado has retired with a $30,000 separation agreement rather than face an internal affairs investigation for her OnlyFans page.
Melissa Williams still operates her OnlyFans page, which allows online subscribers to pay $10 a month to see her pose naked or partially naked and engage in sex acts with her husband. She spent 28 years in law enforcement, including her last 11 years with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, where she was most recently assigned to the detention center as a lieutenant.
“I was a really good cop. I was a really good cop, and I was a really good leader,” the 48-year-old Williams said in an interview with KDVR.
Williams said she never posed in her uniform or identified herself as a deputy and said it never occurred to her the sheriff’s department might find her page inappropriate.
“I never did because I was doing it off-duty and it was never anything criminal,” she said.
OnlyFans page leads to complaint
Williams said there were no issues with her OnlyFans page for the first 18 months. But eventually, co-workers found out and a female officer from a neighboring police department filed a complaint with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. In the Aug. 5 complaint, she stated that she felt the lieutenant’s “poor judgment was a discredit to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.”
“I was like, this doesn’t even affect the person that reported it. It doesn’t affect my work, it doesn’t affect my employees, it doesn’t affect the community,” Williams said.
But the sheriff’s office took the complaint seriously. In a memo obtained by KDVR, an internal affairs inspector wrote, “The website contained pictures of Lt. Williams posing for pictures clearly showing her face and her genitals, one or more of the photos appear to have been taken in a very public location.”
“I think some people viewed as what I did for fun, as being a sex worker, but I’m the same as someone else’s neighbor, their friend, mom, daughter. I’m still the same person I was for the 18 months the page existed and nobody knew,” Williams said.
Colorado law protects employee personal time
“There are a lot of things that are legal that someone might disapprove of,” said Don Mayer, a professor of business ethics and legal studies at the University of Denver.
He said Colorado has a law called the “Lawful Off-Duty Activity Statute” that protects employees from being fired for what they do in their personal time as long as they’re not breaking any laws.
“I don’t think there’s a strong argument that what she did was unlawful,” Mayer said.
But a spokesman for Sheriff Tyler Brown said the agency felt Williams should have sought permission for secondary employment, just like any deputy who works security at a bar or a football game is required to do.
Williams said it didn’t occur to seek permission for secondary employment.
“No, because it really doesn’t generate employment income and there are a lot of individuals throughout the metro area who have what could be considered secondary employment, but it isn’t something that gets claimed or gets reported,” she said.
Williams declined to say how much money her OnlyFans page has earned her but acknowledged she has more than 300 subscribers. She said she decided to accept a $30,000 separation and release agreement in November to retire from the sheriff’s department, partly because she was convinced the department was going to terminate her if she didn’t.
“I did not leave out of shame, and I did not leave out of embarrassment for the OnlyFans page. I left because it was the right thing for myself and my family, and honestly, the OnlyFans piece was just one part of it,” Williams said.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office responds
Sheriff Brown declined to discuss the Williams case, but his spokesperson told KDVR in an email:
“As far as the secondary employment, our policy does not explicitly mention OnlyFans or similar web hosting platforms; however, the policy does cover secondary employment that may negatively affect a member’s performance of their regular assigned duties, or which likely would bring the Sheriff’s Office into disrepute. In light of the nature of OnlyFans platforms, the Sheriff has interpreted our policy to mean that anyone having such a website or page as a second job would need to notify the Sheriff and obtain his approval before pursuing such an undertaking.”
In another statement on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office said:
“The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Ms. Williams after receiving a complaint from a member of the public alleging that Ms. Williams was posing on a pornographic website and, in doing so, was bringing discredit to the Sheriff’s Office. Prior to the completion of that investigation, Ms. Williams sought to negotiate a severance and elected to resign her employment. Ms. Williams was not fired, nor was she forced to leave the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. Ms. Williams’ allegations appear to be nothing more than an effort to manufacture a ‘newsworthy’ story to drive traffic to her website.”

Bellevue West student races on Daytona International Speedway

Williams raced in the Ignite Senior Margay category and placed fourth.
The trip from Bellevue to Florida was a long one. Williams and his father chose to drive down to the iconic speedway.
“When I got there, it was like a dream come true,” he said. “We went under the little bridge under the track to get into the infield, and then you look up and you see the banking and it was like a dream come true knowing that I was going to race on the actual track.”
Williams has eyes on eventually making it big on the racing scene.
“Obviously, you got to start small. As of now, it is a little side hobby, but I really am getting into it and, like, meeting a lot of good drivers that go all around the nation and compete in the biggest events,” he said.
Williams is registered for next year’s Daytona event and said he looks forward to it.
Melissa Fish-Williams, Williams’ mother, said it was exciting for her son to race on a track where so many famous racers have been on.

]

The first season of the show premiered on March 19, 2020, on BET that had a total of 24 episodes that ended on January 28, 2021, and then the second season premiered on March 11, 2021, and concluded on January 13, 2021, with a total of 19 episodes.
The show has received many positive reviews from audiences as well as critics and has an IMDB rating of 6.2 out of 10. All the fans are already expecting the third season and here’s what we know so far about Ruthless Season 3.
Currently, there is no announcement made about whether the show will be renewed or canceled.
So, we can’t expect any release date soon but if the series gets renewed for its third season, then taking into consideration the pattern, we can expect to have a release date by March this year or it may be delayed in the wake of ongoing COVID pandemic.
What Can We Expect From the Plot of Ruthless Season 3?
In the initial three episodes of The Oval, Ruth Truesdale (played by Melissa L. Williams) kidnaps her daughter Callie and pushes her to team up with her and the sex-crazed members of the Rakudushis cult in a backdoor pilot. Ruth is majorly observed in the Rakadushi faith.
She was given the award of the title of “Elder” by the cult in appreciation for her contribution in punishing her closest friend, Tally, for being a member of the deviant faction.
Though she was welcomed into the role of Elder, she had to be gang-raped in presence of The Highest by seven high-ranking members of the cult, along with Andrew and Dukhan.
After being gang-raped, Ruth and Tally’s closest friend decided to leave the cult.
The Rakadushis is headed by “The Highest,” portrayed by Matt Cedeo. The Supreme Being is differentiated by his long hair and his white costume. A calm attitude and openness run through his manner.
To keep his criminal record as a serial murderer and child predator a secret is the objective of this strategy. The medications provided by him lead newcomers to turn unconscious and they lose their memories, enabling him to assault them sexually. His addiction to drugs runs to him as well.
Cult leader Dikhan (played by Lenny Thomas) is the Highest’s right-hand man and a senior member of the organization.
Everything that takes place on the cult’s property is under his strict control. Despite his wonderful appearance and dedication to The Highest, Dikhan may be hostile and stiff in his attitude towards others.
According to the seventh episode of Season One Dukhan and The Highest have been in a relationship for 12 years. Dukhan is Bisexual. For a long time, he has been having a relationship with Ruth, but he has also been alluded to by Lynn (played by Nirdine Brown).
Ruth obtains Dikhan’s help to plan her flee from the cult, but Dikhan now has started feeling for Ruth.
It appears that Ruth is pregnant with Dikhan’s first child, as said by Dikhan himself. Taking into account his relationship with the Almighty, he needed to conceal his feelings for Ruth.
This also breaches the protocols of the cult, as per the author. Dikhan and Ruth are seen with mistrust by The Highest when he senses the smell of Ruth’s soap on his body.
Dikhan feels terrified and jealous because of the Highest’s admiration for Andrew and River. In the cult, Dikhan is criticized by all. The Highest is told of the cult members’ misconduct, and Dikhan generally gives advice and punishes them.
It was an undercover FBI agent, Andrew (played by Blue Kimble), who teamed up with the Rakadushi cult before apparently coming down with its views and becoming one of their most senior members. Andrew and his wife, Sarah, are the parents of a boy named Andrew III.
After joining the church and becoming a devoted disciple, he had a sexual connection with Tally (Yvonne Senat Jones), a member of the Rakadushi sect, which was strictly forbidden by the faith’s rules. The fascination that Andrew has for Tally results in her getting pregnant.
Tally is just not aware of the fact that Andrew is a married FBI agent who also works as an undercover spy in the same organization. Andrew is a devoted follower of the teachings and practices of the Rakadushi sect.
Although Tally is perpetually torn between her moral values and her feelings for him, he also is continuously pulled between the two feelings.
Tally begins to have confusion regarding Andrew’s commitment to her after discovering that he was one of the seven men liable for Ruth’s gang rape.
Dikhan, who was head over heels in love with The Highest and had expressed his dedication to the religion by having a sexual relationship with The Highest once, was especially outraged by this development.
We are sure if the series gets renewed, we will get to see what happens next to them.
