All younger brothers who had to deal with ribbing from their elder sibling while growing up have found a hero. A little boy not only got the better of his brother but his ninja move, captured on close circuit camera, made him a favourite on the internet.

In the video, the elder brother can be seen hurriedly opening the door of their house. He looks back to check if his younger brother is close by. Once he spies the little boy approaching, he goes inside and tries to lock the door. The younger brother senses the urgency of the moment. Within a split second, he throws a jacket at the door, failing his brother’s lockout attempt. He maintains his cool and walks forward, only to get into a scuffle with the elder one. The younger one can be heard giggling after he realizes that he has slayed his brother’s lockout attempt.

My husband and his brother used to do that – lock each other out – until the one time my husband put his hand through the glass in the door, cut open his wrist and needed several hours of surgery 😬 — TheGoodCook (@janaecook) January 16, 2022

NFL on Nickelodeon: 49ers top Cowboys 23-17 in thrilling, slime-filled Wild Card broadcast

img]

The rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys is legendary, and the latest installment was exactly that as well. San Francisco topped Dallas, 23-17, in a game that looked over early but proved to be anything but during a thrilling fourth quarter.

With a minute remaining and Dallas having no timeouts, 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel looked to have sealed the game with an 11-yard rush on third-and-10. But after review, he was deemed a yard short, forcing a punt.

Dallas then had 32 seconds to drive the length of the field and potentially win the game. Quarterback Dak Prescott completed passes to Cedrick Wilson, Tony Pollard and Dalton Schultz before gaining 17 on a late rushing attempt. After the rush, which put Dallas at San Francisco’s 24-yard line, Prescott couldn’t spike the ball in time to get another play off, sending the 49ers to the Divisional Round.

San Francisco jumped to a 16-7 first half lead thanks to a rushing touchdown from Elijah Mitchell and three field goals from Robbie Gould. It proved to be an insurmountable lead.

The 2022 NFL Wild Card game on Nickelodeon brought a ton of kid-focused content in addition to the thrilling on-field product. Here’s some of what the family-friendly broadcast had to offer:

Despite the loss, Prescott won the NVP – the game’s most valuable player award – with 81% of the vote. Prescott finished 23-43 for 254 yards with a touchdown and an interception to go along with his rushing touchdown. This makes it two-straight Wild Card NVPs to losing quarterbacks, as then-Chicago Bears starter Mitch Trubisky won the inaugural award after a loss to the New Orleans Saints a season ago.

This NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon followed its wildly successful 2021 debut, the first ever NFL broadcast geared toward kids and families. The 2021 game between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears was Nickelodeon’s most-watched program in nearly four years and won two Sports Emmys.

With the win, San Francisco will play the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round at Lambeau Field next week.

At-home COVID test website launches early. How to order free testing kits from the government

img]

Some Americans will be able to order free coronavirus tests on the new federal government website a day early.

While COVIDTests.gov was expected to start accepting orders on Wednesday, an “Order free at-home tests” button was added Tuesday, which brings users to usps.com/covidtests to order four at-home free tests.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday the site is in its beta phase to allow troubleshooting.

“We can’t guarantee there won’t be a bug or two,” Psaki said, “but the best tech teams across the administration and the Postal Service are working hard to make this a success.”

USA TODAY tested the site and got a message that “COVID-19 tests will start shipping in late January.” The Postal Service will only send one set of four free at-home coronavirus tests to valid residential addresses, the site said.

►COVID quarantine and isolation guide:What to know and what to have at home

A message was posted on the website Tuesday that noted the site is “up and running early so we can test the site before our official launch tomorrow. We have tests for every residential address in the U.S. Please check back tomorrow if you run into any unexpected issues.”

USPS COVID test kits

Some users immediately identified at least one problem: Orders made by different people living in the same apartment building but in different units were rejected as duplicates, according to some tweets. Americans are supposed to be able to order up to four kits per address. Once ordered, tests are to be mailed within seven to 12 days.

One workaround is to put your apartment number in the street address field, Twitter users are reporting.

A credit card isn’t needed to order the free tests and there is no cost, unlike the insurance reimbursement program that started Saturday where many will have to submit receipts in order to get the tests for free.

The tests are part of the Biden administration’s purchase of 500 million tests last month to help tackle a record surge in infections.

Free COVID test website drives online government traffic

The early launch of the test ordering website made up more than half of all government website visits Tuesday, according to analytics.usa.gov.

In the last seven days, COVIDtests.gov got nearly 9 million pageviews as of 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, the analytics website shows.

Tips to find at-home COVID tests

If you are trying to find an at-home test now, it may seem like a daunting task.

But it is possible to find testing kits in stores and online with some tools, determination and sometimes luck in the face of ongoing shortages.

Some are using the same tactics to find the tests that are being used to score the hard-to-find PS5 and Xbox Series X video game consoles: Following Twitter and social media accounts that blast when the tests are back in stock.

There are also apps and websites that alert consumers when new tests arrive.

Eli Coustan, a 14-year-old from the Evanston suburb of Chicago, started his website Findacovidtest.org at the end of December after seeing how difficult it was to find the at-home tests.

“I had created a site to find vaccines earlier in the pandemic and knew that I would be able to use a lot of similar technology to create something to find at-home tests you can order online and get shipped,” Eli told USA TODAY, adding he started ILVaccine.org in February 2021 after he saw how hard it was for his grandparents to get appointments.

Your mileage may vary, but here are tips to help you find at-home coronavirus tests and other items that are shortage items.

In-stock alerts

For shopping online, alerts or notifications whether from store apps or third-party sites or apps are one of the best ways to find available inventory when it restocks.

Target has in-stock alerts that you can sign up for with its app. Apps, including Hot Stock, also can send you notifications. The app is free but there’s an option to pay $5.49 to receive notifications for up to 10 products.

Eli says his site automatically updates every five to 10 minutes and site visitors can sign up for text notifications.

The site tracks coronavirus tests online inventory at Amazon, CVS, Costco, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Sam’s Club and more and you can select the brand of test you’re interested in.

♦ Shopping tip: Once you get an alert, you’ll need to act fast as supplies will go fast and it can take multiple attempts.

►COVID test prices:Prices up at Walmart, Kroger as at-home rapid tests remain hard to find

Check in-store test inventory with apps and Google Shopping

Before heading to a brick-and-mortar Target, Walmart, or another retailer, you can get a better idea of store inventory by checking store websites or apps. But similar to ordering online, the inventory can quickly change.

Google Shopping also allows shoppers to check in-store inventory from home. Find local stores that carry the products you are looking for from Google Shopping and select the “in stock” filter to see only the nearby stores that have it on their shelves.

►Shortages 2022:Grocery stores still have empty shelves amid supply chain disruptions, omicron and winter storms

►FDA warning:FDA warns against using unapproved COVID-19 tests because of a ‘high risk of false results’

Follow restock Twitter accounts for COVID test updates

According to a Vice story Thursday, several PS5 restock accounts on Twitter have started to post alerts about the coronavirus test availability.

Here are three Twitter accounts to watch for test updates:

How to get free home COVID tests with insurance

With insurance companies now covering the over-the-counter tests as of Saturday, there will be new motivation to find tests. Many will be free after insurance reimbursement.

Private health plans are required to cover the over-the-counter tests at up to $12 per test. Consumers can either get the testing kits at no cost at participating pharmacies that their plan sets up or submit receipts for reimbursement from the insurance company.

Why is Ninja threatening to sue Pokimane after Jidion hate raid?

THE TWITCH drama around Pokimane and Jidion has blown up into a platform-wide conflict, and now Ninja is involved.

The Twitch streamer’s manager and wife, Jessica Blevins, has threatened Pokimane with legal action, accusing her of defamation for discussing Ninja and Jidion’s recent interactions.

Why did Jidion get banned on Twitch?

To give you a refresher, newly verified Twitch streamer Jidion got a two-week ban for hate-raiding Pokimane last week.

Jidon told his viewers to flock to Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys’ stream to troll her chat, but things escalated into Poki and her chat receiving toxic messages and being harassed.

Jidion’s ban has since been extended from just two weeks, to being permanently taken off the platform.

But now Ninja is involved and has come under fire for his own sexist behaviour, as well as seemingly supporting Jidion.

What happened with Ninja and Jidion?

During one of Ninja’s streams, Jidion’s fans were apparently in the chat asking the Twitch star to help out with the ban.

Ninja said he would message his Twitch account manager on Jidion’s behalf, seemingly doing do on stream.

“Alright, I sent the text,” he exclaims in a clip from the stream uploaded by Pokimane’s secondary Twitter account.

He adds that he can’t promise anything, as “what happened, happened.”

In another clip from the same stream (that Jidion is reacting to), Ninja says:

“Jidion if you’re listening, I need you to understand that you’re f**ked. I need you to set your expectations low… I’m going to do whatever I can.”

Ninja then addresses the camera to give Jidion some advice, saying that if he’s going to “raid b*tches” to stick to Twitter to avoid repercussions on Twitch.

Jidion took this as Ninja calling Pokimane a b*tch and ecstatically jumps out of his chair, screaming and laughing.

Why is Ninja threatening to sue Pokimane?

Pokimane later called Ninja out (via @JakeSucky) for helping Jidion try to evade his ban.

“I wonder if Ninja would’ve said ‘b*tches’ if it was a large male streamer that was hate-raided, but I digress.”

Ninja has since messaged Pokimane behind the scenes, and his wife and manager, Jessica Blevins also reached out insinuating they would take legal action in DMs exposed by Poki.

She tells the streamer that the pair are “considering everything defamation of character” and are getting their legal team involved.

“You are spewing lies to tens of thousands of people,” Blevins continues, before admitting that Ninja’s offer to help Jidion on stream wasn’t genuine and that he never reached out to his rep.

Pokimane has said that she has no idea if Ninja actually messaged his rep, but she’s clearly frustrated by the situation and escalating fallout.

For now, Jidion is still banned, and will likely remain that way if Ninja didn’t actually intervene, despite saying he would.

How did the fight between Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze play out?

This clash between two ranked featherweights was nothing short of war. The two strikers delivered exactly what they were supposed to. In the first round, Chikadze and Kattar exchanged blows with each other.

‘Ninja’ started early and unleashed his signature kicks onto Kattar, but ‘The Boston Finisher’ patiently waited for an opening. Moments later, a miss and a slip gave Kattar a chance to get onto ‘Ninja’ and take him to the ground.

On the mat, ‘The Boston Finisher’ tried multiple maneuvers on Chikadze. He even tried to put Chikadze into a triangle armbar, but ‘Ninja’ was able to get himself out.

The second round looked to be in Chikadze’s favor in the start, but Kattar kept closing in with no signs of backing off. The Boston native kept in range the entire time and put pressure on the #8 featherweight throughout.

After that, it was only downhill for Chikadze, as Kattar kept coming in better every time. Notably, ‘The Boston Finisher’ kept mixing in takedowns and sharp strikes that gassed out ‘Ninja’.
