Inside The Conspiracy Theory That Anne Hathaway Is Married To A Time-Traveling William Shakespeare
]
If you were paying attention in your high school English class you’ll know that actress Anne Hathaway shares her name with the wife of William Shakespeare.
But, for most of us, the similarities between the two women, who lived centuries apart, end there.
However, one bizarre conspiracy theory is finding more links between the Hollywood star and Shakespeare’s wife. After Hathaway married the actor, Adam Shulman, people are coming up with bizarre theories that she may be the real Anne Hathway.
While there have been many conspiracies about celebrities, this one seems to have caught the eye of many.
Is actress Anne Hathaway married to William Shakespeare?
Similarities between Shulman and Shakespeare have led some to believe that he and Hathaway are reincarnations of the famous literary couple.
A TikToker posted a video online explaining the conspiracy theory of Anne Hathway and her husband being time-travelers which went viral.
The resemblance between Shulman and Shakespeare is frightening. The TikToker explains how the both of them could pass off as twins. In addition, Hathway also resembles Shakespeare’s wife along with having the same name as her.
She further mentions how that leads into the theory of them being time-travelers or immortal like vampires. As bizarre as both of those speculations are, the theory of time-travelers seems a bit more realistic than vampires.
This isn’t the first time people have theorized about Anne Hathaway’s link to Shakespeare.
The theory has been floating around the internet for some time so many came to the comments with more information about the pair.
One user commented, “Oddly enough William Shakespeare was born in April and so was Anne’s husband.”
anne hathaway is being talked about for her beauty but what about the fact that her husband looks very similar to william shakespeare and william shakespeare’s wife’s name was literally ANNE HATHAWAY…… pic.twitter.com/UR0x4bnL8N — (@PEACHYBLACKG0RL) July 1, 2018
Another wrote, “Billions of relationships across the planet and it’s weird that there two couples that resemble each other several hundred years apart? Lol”
And another joked, “Probably a Time Traveler, and in the future she is the Queen of Genovia.”
Shakespeare did write about eternal love for Anne Hathaway.
That led to another theory that both of them could have been reincarnated. There are comments claiming that Shakespeare wrote, “Life is too short to love you alone in one, I promise to look for you in the next life" to his wife.
As one user pointed out, “My fave part of the story… Shakespeare wrote to her ‘Life is too short to love you alone in one, I promise to look for you in the next life’”
Another person wrote, “Shakespeare also wrote something along the lines of finding Hathaway in another life and be with her forever.”
Because of that, people are convinced that the two are reincarnated versions of Shakespeare and his wife. There have also been many tweets on Twitter regarding this theory. As this became quite viral, Hathway has also commented on it in an interview.

While there are many people buying into this theory, some people are refusing to believe that this is even possible.
A user even went as far as stating that Shakespeare might not even be a real person. Carebear wrote, “It’s not proven he was an actual person. There’s no historical proof showing he was real. It’s suggested that the name was an alias.”
Another commented that no one really knows what Shakespeare looks like as what we have now are just paintings.
“If you study history, we actually have no idea what Shakespeare looked like. Look it up.”
Realistically speaking, the possibility of Anne Hathaway and her husband being time-travelers or reincarnated is lower than 0.000001%. However, it’s always interesting to see various opinions and thoughts by people to back up conspiracy theories.

]
Speak to any Anne Hathaway fan and they’ll tell you the same thing: this actor has serious range. Granted, we might all be quoting The Devil Wears Prada until the end of our days, but browse through Hathaway’s back catalogue and you’ll find there’s nothing this woman can’t do. From Fantine in Les Misérables to the Grand High Witch in The Witches, Hathaway’s talent is evident every time she graces the big screen. So it’s definitely cause for celebration, then, that the Oscar-winning actor has a new project in the works: Eileen, a female-led crime drama based on the 2015 book of the same name by Ottessa Moshfegh.
Anne Hathaway will star in Eileen, a crime drama based upon the novel by Ottessa Moshfegh
The Hollywood Reporter, all has been quiet on the progress of the film. That is until Jonathan Busch, Mayor of the Borough of Metuchen in New Jersey, confirmed very recently that the film has been shooting in the city for weeks. Although the project was initially announced in development back in 2016 by, all has been quiet on the progress of the film. That is until Jonathan Busch, Mayor of the Borough of Metuchen in New Jersey, confirmed very recently that the film has been shooting in the city for weeks. Not only does the film have an evocative period setting, but it’s got a starry cast and award-winning talent behind the camera, too. Scroll ahead for everything we know about Eileen so far.
What is the plot of Eileen?
Eileen is a female-led crime drama which follows a troubled 24-year-old woman who works in a boys’ prison outside Boston in the 1960s who is pulled into a very strange crime. A synopsis of Ottessa Moshfegh’s Man Booker Prize-shortlisted novel reads as follows: “The Christmas season offers little cheer for Eileen Dunlop. Trapped between caring for her alcoholic father and her job as a secretary at the boys’ prison, she tempers her dreary days with dreams of escaping to the big city. In the meantime, her nights and weekends are filled with shoplifting and cleaning up her increasingly deranged father’s messes. “When the beautiful, charismatic Rebecca Saint John arrives on the scene as the new counsellor at the prison, Eileen is enchanted, unable to resist what appears to be a miraculously budding friendship. But soon, Eileen’s affection for Rebecca will pull her into a crime that far surpasses even her own wild imagination.”
A synopsis from the perspective of the lead character also reveals a gripping story. “So here we are. My name was Eileen Dunlop. Now you know me. I was twenty-four years old then and had a job that paid fifty-seven dollars a week as a kind of secretary at a private juvenile correctional facility for teenage boys. I think of it now as what it really was for all intents and purposes — a prison for boys. This is the story of how I disappeared.”
On Twitter, meanwhile, Mayor of the Borough of Metuchen in New Jersey, Jonathan Busch, also confirmed plot details alongside a series of photos showing how the production had turned Main Street into 60s New England. “Today, we had the honour of welcoming the @searchlightpics production of “Eileen”, which transformed part of S Main St into 1960s New England. The film starring Anne Hathaway & @WhighamShea is based on Ottessa Moshfegh’s novel of the same name,” he wrote. “The movie centres around a young woman who works in a boys’ prison outside of Boston & is somehow pulled into a bizarre crime & is expected to be released in about a year.”
Who is starring in Eileen?
Thomasin McKenzie will star in the forthcoming period drama Eileen
According to NJ.com, who first reported the details of the project, Eileen will star Anne Hathaway, Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho, Jojo Rabbit) and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire, Joker). In the photos shared on Twitter by Mayor Busch, both Whigham and McKenzie can be seen in period costume. The outlet has also reported that cinematographer Ari Wegner, who created the visual identity of Netflix’s recent Western psychodrama The Power Of The Dog, will be creating the film alongside direction from William Oldroyd. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film was originally set to be adapted by The Girl On The Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson, although it’s now been reported that Luke Goebel will be penning the script.
Is there a release date for Eileen?
There’s no official word on the release date of the film, although production manager Jamin O’Brien told My Central Jersey that we could expect to see it on the big screen in a year’s time. We’ll keep updating this article as more details emerge.
Les Misérables movie mistake spotted by TikTok user
]
The 2012 movie version of Les Misérables came out almost a decade ago and it’s still, to this day, prompting conversations.
While held to be divisive by some, we’re personally massive fans of Tom Hooper’s award-winning epic sweep, which was streets ahead of his next movie musical, the slightly less refined Cats.
But no movie is without its flaws, and a TikTok user has spotted one, committed by Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway. Hathaway may want to echo Amanda Seyfried’s sentiments when she says she wished she could have another stab at the show – knowing what she does now!
The mighty stage production of Les Mis continues at the Sondheim Theatre in the West End, while also on tour.

Stars Who Totally Lied During Their Auditions To Get The Part

“You can learn anything in two weeks if you’re motivated enough.”
It’s no secret that Hollywood is an extremely competitive place and landing a role takes a lot of time and talent. So when an important audition comes around, there can be a lot of pressure to get the part. For some stars, the pressure is so great, they end up stretching the truth in order to guarantee their spot in the cast.
Actors including Phoebe Dynevor, Paul Mescal, and Anne Hathaway have all admitted to fibbing in an audition in the hopes of convincing the casting director they were perfect for the part – and it totally worked! And while a little white lie every once in a while can be pretty harmless, for some celebs, it came pretty close to backfiring.
Here’s what these stars did to get the part…
During the audition process for “The Wire,” Idris Elba was advised by the casting director to pretend he was American as the creator wasn’t looking to cast any non-Americans in the series. Idris kept up with the lie until the fourth audition when he knew he had to come clean about his British background. Despite not being an American, he still ended up with the role.
“My parents told me not to lie. You gotta look someone in the eye and be honest. I have lied. It’s never worked out for me,” Idris said during a " Hot Ones " interview.
- Sadie Sink
“Stranger Things” star Sadie Sink had to tell a small lie while auditioning for the Netflix show in order to make up for a skill she didn’t have. She explained that the director was looking for a girl who could skateboard and while she did admit she didn’t know how, she noted that she was confident at rollerblading.
“They wanted a girl that had skateboard experience, and I didn’t have skateboarding experience at all. They asked me, ‘Oh, do you have any rollerblading experience?’ I was like, ‘Uh sure I do,’ which was technically not a lie because I have rollerbladed before. In reality, I probably haven’t skated for a year,” Sadie told Coveteur .
When Phoebe Dynevor was auditioning for her lead role in “Bridgerton,” she says she might have exaggerated her experience with horses. While she’d always been scared of horses, she told casting agents that she actually rode horses all the time. Thankfully, she landed the role and was given the chance to learn – and ended up loving it!
“I’ve always said – I don’t know why – that I didn’t like horses and was scared of them. But in the audition when they asked me, ‘Have you ridden a horse before?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m amazing. I’ve ridden so many horses. I’d be perfect for this role!’ I actually loved horseback riding by the end of it and would love to get back on a horse as soon as possible, so that was fun,” Phoebe told Glamour .
Mila Kunis may not have gotten her role in “That 70’s Show” if she hadn’t lied about her age! The actress was just 14 at the time of her audition and because she knew the producers were looking for someone slightly older, she figured out a loophole so she didn’t have to tell them her exact age.
“Legally, I was 14. I mean – I told them that I was a little bit older…I was in ninth grade, so I was pretty 14. I told them I was gonna be 18, which…is not technically a lie, ‘cause at one point, given all things went right, I was gonna be 18,” Mila said on " The Tonight Show ."
Back in 2011, Chloë Grace Moretz ended up having to lie about her nationality while auditioning for “Hugo.” Chloë explained that the casting director knew she wasn’t British like the character in the film and recommended lying to Martin Scorsese.
“The casting director knew I wasn’t British, but she knew I was willing to lie, and she liked me. And she was like, ‘Lie to Marty. It’ll work!’” Chloë said on “ The Late Show .”
Things slightly backfired when she started making up her British backstory, which included parents who bred horses – despite knowing nothing about horses. It all worked out in the end though and Martin didn’t realize until well into filming.
After Robert Pattinson wrapped filming “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” he had a hard time finding work. After a few years of failed auditions, Robert headed to Los Angeles – where he told casting agents he had been studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to explain the gap in his resume.
“I’d been unemployed for ages, and when I came to Los Angeles all the casting directors would ask what I’d been doing for the past few years. I’d say, ‘Oh, I was at [acting school] RADA.’ If you’ve got an English accent you can get away with it. But it didn’t work when loads of English people started moving to Los Angeles,” Robert told Mirror .
Like Phoebe Dynevor, Anne Hathaway lied about her ability to ride a horse! When she auditioned for “Brokeback Mountain,” Anne says she told director Ang Lee that she had experience with horses even though she had never ridden. Anne ended up getting the part and took extensive horseback riding lessons that prepared her for filming. Things only slightly backfired when she wasn’t told that the horse she was riding was a “verbal command horse” and she had no idea why it wouldn’t follow her commands!
“My parents have given me a lot of gifts in my life, and one of them is: If you’re ever asked if you can do anything, say yes. You can learn anything in two weeks if you’re motivated enough. So I’d never been on a horse, and I replied, ‘Oh yeah, I’m a really good rider.’ So I knew I had to learn to ride, and I got really, really, really good,” Anne told Out .
- Paul Mescal
Paul Mescal’s agent told a small lie on his behalf during the audition process for “Normal People.” When asked if Paul could drive, his agent said he could, despite the fact that Paul didn’t even have a driver’s license.
“My agent was like, ‘We are not losing this job over you not being able to drive so I’ll tell production that you can and in the meantime, you go off and rattle through as many lessons as you can,’” Paul told Entertainment Weekly .
Jameela Jamil says that while auditioning for “The Good Place” she ended up lying about her experience with acting. Not only that, but she also told the casting director that she had done tons of improv while in England – which she never had.
“I also told the casting director that I had acting experience, which was a lie. I told her I’d been on stage, but I was talking about my school days,” she told CNBC .
- Laura Fraser
When Laura Fraser was auditioning for “Breaking Bad,” she may have exaggerated her German language skills. The role ended up requiring extensive knowledge of business phases in the language when in reality, Laura had only learned the basics as a middle school student.
