Tributes have begun pouring in for Bob Saget who has died aged 65.

News of the comedian’s death was confirmed early this morning (10 January).

Saget was pronounced dead at the scene after he was found unresponsive at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando, Florida, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The actor was best known for his role as Danny Tanner on the hit sitcom Full House, which ran on ABC from 1987 to 1995. The actor returned when the series was revived on Netflix in 2016, retitled Fuller House.

His family have issued a statement confirming the death of “our beloved Bob” and invited fans “to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world”.

Marvel star Kat Dennings – who acted opposite Saget in the sitcom Raising Dad – was one of the first to pay tribute to the late actor on Twitter.

Dennings wrote: “Oh god. Bob Saget!!! The loveliest man. I was his TV daughter for one season and he was always so kind and protective. So so sorry for his family.”

John Stamos – who starred as Uncle Jesse on Full House – wrote that he was “broken” and “gutted” in response to the news.

I just can’t believe it. What a wonderful guy. He always went out of his way to make me comfortable and talked nonstop about his kids. Such a loss 💔 pic.twitter.com/Yr6C3R4lEW — Kat Dennings (@OfficialKat) January 10, 2022

“I am in complete and utter shock,” wrote Stamos on Twitter. “I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”

Candace Cameron Bure – who played Danny’s daughter DJ Tanner – also paid tribute to Saget on Twitter.

“I don’t know what to say. I have no words. Bob was one of the best humans beings I’ve ever known in my life. I loved him so much,” wrote Bure.

Lita Returns to SmackDown and Says She Has One More Run Left

Tonight’s SmackDown featured the return of a WWE legend in Lita, who hadn’t been on the Blue Brand in quite some time. Michael Cole introduced her and she emerged to a huge reception by the crowd. Once she got into the ring the crowd started Lita chants, and she said it still gives her chills every time. Cole complimented her and also said that so many current superstars say that Lita inspired them, and asked why she decided to compete in the Rumble match. Lita said “Michael it’s been a wild ride. I’ve got more career highlights than I can count. The first woman to main event Raw with my bestie Trish Stratus. Being the first woman involved in a TLC match” to name a few. “I would say most days I am fully satisfied with my career, until recently,” Lita said.

“I didn’t have the ability to compete in the women’s Royal Rumble match, because we didn’t have that. I don’t know about you guys, but I think I’ve got one more in me. So I’ve got a plan, okay. I’m going to enter the Royal Rumble, overcome 29 other women, and main event WrestleMania,” Lita said.

Then Charlotte Flair’s music hit and she came out to the ring. Then she took the microphone and said she was going to interview Lita. She asked her how she was and then said whatever. “I didn’t know it was Flashback Friday,” Flair said. “Guys, the is so extreme, isn’t that what you used to say? When I win, I get to win the Rumble match and pick my opponent.” Then she threatened her a bit and said she can end her WrestleMania dreams.

Lita said “I heard about this version of Charlotte. Feels like we’ve got a real Tonya Harding on our hands. I’m just confused how you’re going to throw someone over the top rope with that massive head you’ve got. Like, you could just tip over.”

The crowd started chanting huge giant head, and Flair cut her off. Flair said, “it’s really funny that you bring up your bestie Trish Stratus, because back at SummerSlam when she was bored and asking for relevance she asked for a match, and after that, she was so broken she retired, and at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, that is what I’m going to do to you.”

Lita then hit her in the face and waved, and then she delivered a slam to Flair in the center of the ring. Flair crawled out after Lita left, and odds are there will be more fireworks between the two before Royal Rumble.

According to Variety, the actress will star as a series regular on the dark comedy, which was greenlit last summer for a second season. This time, however, the new season will become an anthology series and feature a new cast and new setting.

The six-episode first season was set in Hawaii at The White Lotus, an exclusive resort, and followed the lives of a group of vacationers. For Season 2, Plaza will join a new cast at a different White Lotus property at another location. Although details are thin, it’s being reported that she will play a character named Harper Spiller, who is on vacation with her husband and his friends.

The creator of The White Lotus is Mike White, who serves as the writer, director, and executive producer on the show. Previously, actor Michael Imperioli was announced as a cast member for the new season. There are also rumors that Season 1 star Jennifer Coolidge will make a return to the series.

Plaza commented on the news via Twitter with a single devil emoji. Maybe that means her character will be up to no good in the second season.

Fans of Plaza and the series were very excited about the addition of the Parks and Recreation actress to the show. Much of that excitement stems from the idea of Plaza and Coolidge sharing the screen. Which, same.

Now, we just have to find out where Season 2 of The White Lotus will be set. Imagine if they take the series to Puerto Rico? We’d love to see it for Aubrey Plaza.

Kathryn Hahn will return as the villainous Agatha Harkness. The series will be a dark comedy, though story details are being kept under wraps. WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer will serve as the writer and executive producer on the project.

It’ll be interesting to see where the studio plans to take this series, Agatha Harkness is an integral part of the comics and could be used to help set up the Dark Avengers, something that has been long rumored for the MCU. The character has also gained more popularity at the Disneyland Resort, being a meet-and-greet character at last year’s Oogie Boogie Bash.

WandaVision is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives, begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The series also stars Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Kat Dennings, and Randall Park. The series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is the head writer.

All 8 episodes of WandaVision are currently streaming on Disney+.

Hulu Renews The Great, Drops Dollface Season 2 Trailer

img]

We have some good news for fans of two of Hulu’s best comedy series.

The streamer has officially picked up a third season of The Great.

Ten new episodes have been ordered.

In season two of The Great, Catherine (Elle Fanning) finally takes the Russian throne for her own - but if she thought coup-ing her husband was difficult, it’s nothing compared to the realities of ’liberating’ a country that doesn’t want to be.

She’ll battle her court, her team, even her own mother in a bid to bring the enlightenment to Russia.

With only occasional historical facts, the series stars Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Bayo Gbadamosi and Belinda Bromilow.

The Great is created, written and executive produced by Tony McNamara and executive produced by Marian Macgowan, Mark Winemaker, Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Echo Lake’s Brittany Kahan Ward, Doug Mankoff and Andrew Spaulding, Thruline’s Josh Kesselman and Ron West, and Matt Shakman.

Hooray, right?

The series has been met with a stellar response from critics and audiences, so it’s nice to see it get rewarded with a pickup.

It is currently nominated for three Critics Choice awards and has a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, the long-delayed second season of Dollface will finally see the light of day on February 11.

All episodes will be released on that day.

The streamer dropped a trailer that shows what to expect in the season ahead.

The second season follows “Jules (Kat Dennings) and her best friends - post-pandemic, post heartbreak, heading toward turning thirty. Having successfully reunited with her friends (Brenda Song, Shay Mitchell, and Esther Povitsky), Jules must now balance keeping their group together as the women navigate work, love, and a deeper relationship with each of themselves,” according to the logline.

Dollhouse initially launched in 2019, but the second season was delayed due to – you guessed it – the pandemic!
