‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, January 17: Victor Hires Michael to Safeguard the Newman Legacy; Devon Voices his Concern About Chance’s Readiness; Adam Doubts Victoria

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and there’s nothing like kicking off a week with the start of a Newman civil war and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) taking steps to protect himself from his own handiwork.

Genoa City looks like it’s going to be a fun place, and we have the spoilery goodies to prove it.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, January 17: Adam questions Victoria’s motives

We’re standing on the cusp of another Newman civil way as Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will stand across the abyss as they go back and forth.

It’s kinda funny hearing Victoria go on about Adam never earning anything when what she has is due largely to her birthright just like him, and she has the extra incentive of doing this for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Of course, this whole this is happening because Victor tool his daughter’s lie as truth and then usurped Adam’s position at Newman Media.

Adam will have questions for Victoria, and he won’t believe her reasons for them in the slightest.

And the fuse will be lit and Victor will have his new lawyer in place to protect him.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, January 17: Victor protects himself

Because of his actions, Victor’s going to be glad he approached Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) about working for him when he retired from the DA’s office.

The timing is perfect as Michael will be tasked with protecting Victor’s, er, the Newman legacy from outside attacks as well as the regular Newman family feuds that pop up every few months.

This won’t be easy and Michael’s going to earn his money, but it’s going to be fun to watch.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, January 17: Devon, Devon, Devon

Yep, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) dropped his bomb on Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), and it went over as well as expected.

So now he’s going to try to explain himself, assuming Abby lets him get a word in before she tries to throw him out.

Devon will explain how he’s concerned for Dominic while Chance is readjusting, and ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers think Chance will agree with him.

His PTSD has him experiencing flashbacks when Dominic needs him and his recent nightmare scared him, Abby, and the baby.

Had anyone tried to get him help sooner this may have been avoided, but we think he’s going to shock and break Abby’s heart by agreeing with Devon that Dominic might be better with them.

Or course, he could just as easily not receive the wake up call and dig in with Abby, and things will get even worse.

How bad will these two wars get? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.

Y&R Spoilers Weekly Update: New Ventures and a Plan of Attack

Y&R spoilers weekly update for January 17 – 21, 2022, tease the week ahead is full of job offers, revenge plots, and a plan of attack to take down a rival. Tune in next week so you can catch all of the action in Genoa City!

Y&R Spoilers Weekly Recap

Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) had a big decision to make. Should he go out while he’s at the top of his game? He consults with family and friends, before ultimately deciding that now is a good time to hang up his hat and retire.

Since Newman-Locke is in the process of buying ChancComm, Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) asks Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) if they can buy Newman Media, too. Victor says he won’t be selling to her.

Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) wants to spend a few minutes of alone time with his wife. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) happily agrees and can be ready at any minute. But now Rey is the one having trouble focusing on his wife, as he wonders how Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is feeling.

The Young and the Restless Week Ahead

Fresh off of his decision to retire, Michael is faced with a decision when Victor recruits him to help protect the Newman legacy. Michael weighs his options seriously and thinks about what becoming Victor’s legal counsel once more would entail.

Surprisingly, Victor admits that he’s skeptical of Ashland Locke now that he’s seemingly recovering from his cancer diagnosis, and wants to launch an investigation. After some back and forth, Michael agrees to the position and sets to work looking into Ashland’s health history. Not surprisingly, Ashland’s history brings forward a lot more questions than answers.

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) pulled back from his earlier vow to sue for legal access to Dominic, but he still won’t let up on over-analyzing Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor’s parenting strategies. His concerns about Chance (Conner Floyd) haven’t subsided and he continues telling anyone and everyone who will listen that he just can’t let it go. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) knows what Devon is feeling and the two sit down to strategize. Poor baby Dominic is already caught in the middle of so much drama!

Also coming up this week, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) continues to plot against Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). We have no idea how she can dedicate so much of her time worrying about what Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally are doing… maybe she should focus her attention on her job, mental well-being, or on Connor (Judah Mackey)? All of those seem like a higher priority (and less of a headache) than constantly worrying about what Sally and Adam are up to.

Young and the Restless: Mariah’s Missing Engagement & Marriage

img]

Mariah Copeland caught Lola Rosales’s wedding bouquet on The Young and the Restless several years ago. That hopeful moment offered so much promise for the future of Mariah and Tessa Porter, and yet, these two haven’t put a ring on it and made it official.

Young and the Restless: Faux Foreshadowing

With all the baby talk between Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), we wonder why nothing ever materialized in furthering their commitment to each other. After all, Mariah caught Lola’s (Sasha Calle) bridal bouquet when she married Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Although Lola’s relationship didn’t last long, we still can’t help but wonder why Mariah’s omen ended up being faux foreshadowing.

Certainly, Mariah didn’t end up being the next woman to marry after Lola. Plenty of others, including Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King), Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), and Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle), have tied the knot since that day. However, Mariah barely managed to move into her mother, Sharon Rosales’s (Sharon Case) apartment above Crimson Lights, with her girlfriend, Tessa.

And Baby Makes Three

With Mariah and Tessa planning to add to their family, we find it hard to believe that these two haven’t experienced a marriage proposal, engagement, or wedding. After all, they’ve already hinted at how difficult adoption is — particularly for a same-sex couple. So it seems, at the very least, they might be interested in making their union official for the sake of helping the process.

Of course, marrying for a baby isn’t the best idea, but it is one practical reason this couple might want to bind themselves together legally. They’ve been dating for several years. Throughout that time, they’ve experienced and overcome plenty of drama. However, with things going well, we’re surprised that neither Tessa nor Mariah has popped the question on The Young and the Restless.

With their baby news out among their family, everyone except Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) supports them. We believe their family would also adore seeing them say “I do.” Plus, many viewers want to see a wedding. It’s time to let these two move forward in their relationship while creating a family.

Your Cheating Heart: Who Is Next To Stray on Young and the Restless?

img]

Is The Young and the Restless really The Young and the Restless if someone isn’t cheating on someone else? After all, Genoa City thrives on drama and there’s little more dramatic than a cheating spouse or lover.

Young and the Restless Polling

So many characters are teetering on the precipice and could fall over at any minute. Over 3,000 fans voted on who they expect will be next to take the leap.

My Forgotten Man On Young and the Restless

Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) has been paying too little attention to Rey Rosales over the past few months that 57% of you are convinced Rey will stray at any moment. Especially with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) right there. Looking all put-upon and sinned-against and puppy dog eyes sad, Rey loves to play the hero. And if Sharon isn’t asking him to do it. His attempted murderer is right there!

Wife Swap

Sharon will betray Rey first, 29% of Young and the Restless viewers counter. She is so obviously bored in her marriage. And so clearly still hung up on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). And if Adam is otherwise occupied, hey did you know that Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) just broke up with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)? And that Sharon just threw her other ex-husband a birthday party. To which Rey wasn’t even invited.

Young and the Restless: MIA

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is obviously miserable in his marriage to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), 6% of the Young and the Restless audience points out. He doesn’t want to be a husband, he doesn’t want to be a father. But he seems wide open to being an adulterer.

Sick and Tired

Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) husband is sick and set to die in six months. We doubt he’s much fun in bed these days. And what do you want Victoria to do, sleep alone, 5% wonder?

Not How I Wanted It

Abby had a vision of how her life would be. But life refuses to get with the program. She was supposed to be blissfully happy with a hubby and baby. Since that’s not happening, 3% expect the spoiled heiress to go looking for greener pastures.

Put A Ring On It: Y&R Star Camryn Grimes Announces She’s Engaged

img]

Camryn Grimes’s character on The Young and the Restless, Mariah Copeland, has found happiness with soulmate Tessa Porter. Now, Grimes has some happy news to share about her off-screen love life.

Camryn Grimes Is Engaged

Camryn Grimes broke the news of her engagement to boyfriend (and now fiancé) Brook Powell, who works in show biz as an actor (Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas) and writer (Global Gains). The couple counts the animated film Up as one of their favorites as the Grimes included two lines of dialogue from the 2009 feature, which starred the late Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore; Lou Grant), in sharing the news of her engagement.

“You and me, we’re in a club now,” spoken by the character Ellie (Elie Docter). She also added Carl’s (Ed Asner) line, “You will always be my greatest adventure.” On Powell’s Instagram page, he wrote, “I have just met you & I love you…” which is yet another line from the same film, this time spoken by the character of Dug (voiced by Bob Peterson).

Young and the Restless Pals React

Camryn Grimes played the role of Cassie Newman before taking on the part of Mariah Copeland so she has many pals from Y&R over the years. Co-stars have weighed in with congratulatory posts.

“Omg yayyyyy!! Congrats!!!!” posted Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson). Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor) used heart, applause, and love-eyed smiling face emoticons to express her feelings about Grimes’s news.

“Yeeeeeeeeeeee,” enthused Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson). Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales), currently shooting her role as Supergirl, wrote, “Congratulations, my girl. I love you so much and I’m so so happy for you both. Sending you the buggest squeeze you could ever possibly imagine! Hunter King (Summer) wrote, “Congratulations!!! So so happy for you both! You deserve all the happiness!”

“I love both of you separately. Now ENGAGED?!” enthused Darcy Rose Byrnes (ex-Abby). “I’m so happy for you two!!” Soap Hub sends congratulations to Camryn Grimes and Brock Powell on their engagement.
