Céline Dion is missing her late husband René Angélil on the sixth anniversary of his death.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer, 53, shared a touching tribute to Angélil — who died at age 74 in 2016 after years of battling throat cancer — on Instagram Friday. The post featured lyrics from her 2019 song “Courage” and a black-and-white photo of Angélil taken by photographer Hans Lambrechts.

“I would be lying if I said I’m fine, I think of you at least a hundred times, cause in the echo of my voice I hear your words just like you’re there… I miss you – Céline xx…” she wrote in the caption.
The singer repeated the first portion of the phrase in a second paragraph, but replaced “I miss you” with the French translation “Tu me manques.”
Dion and Angélil went public with their relationship shortly before getting engaged in 1993 on the “Power of Love” singer’s 25th birthday. The couple wed in December 1994 and remained married until Angélil, who was previously Dion’s manager, died in 2016.
Dion shared a tribute similar to Friday’s post to honor the fifth anniversary of Angélil’s death in 2021. Instead of lyrics, however, the “All by Myself” artist offered a personalized message to her late love.
“René, it’s been 5 years already… There’s not one day that we don’t think about you,” she wrote in the caption alongside a black-and-white photo of herself and Angélil holding hands by the ocean.

Dion and Angélil had three sons together during 22 years of marriage: René-Charles, 21, and twins Nelson and Eddy, both 11. Dion opened up about life after losing a husband and a father in a May 2021 interview on Today.
“I feel like René has given me so much through the years and still today,” she said at the time. “I see my kids. I look at them — we live with him. We still live with him. He’s part of our lives every day, so I have to say that I feel very, very strong.”
Earlier in the interview, Dion said dating someone new wasn’t on her mind. “Right this second, love is so big right now in my life, with my kids, with life itself,” she said. “I’m not thinking about a relationship and falling in love again. I don’t. Do I have to say that it will never happen anymore? I don’t know. I don’t know.”

Dion made similar comments in a separate interview with Today in September 2019 shortly before releasing her aforementioned single “Courage,” which tackles losing a loved one.
“I don’t date. I’m not ready to date,” she admitted on the show. “I’m so lucky to have so many people surround me who make me laugh, but I miss to be touched. I miss to be hugged. I missed to be told I’m beautiful. I miss what a boyfriend and what a husband would do.”
However, Dion said her late husband was often on her mind. “Before I talk, he goes through my mind ‘Would he do that? Is it too edgy? Would he be approving that?’ I believed in him so much and I still do,” she explained.

In her own version of what she called “garage music”, Amanda put on a show with a performance of Celine Dion’s ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’.
While of course, it wasn’t actually Amanda singing, but instead her lip-syncing, she still received high praise from both friends and fans online.
Fellow TV presenter Davina McCall commented: “This is EPIC !!!! I LOVE YOU”
American fashion designer Melissa Odabash said: “Amanda is better than any tv show best entertainer”
However, the comment fans loved the most was by Amanda’s Heart Radio colleague, Ashley Roberts.
The friendship between the former Pussycat Doll and Hampshire’s favourite celebrity has blossomed and it was there for all to see in the comments section.
Ashley suggested the idea of the two forming a band saying: “Beyoncé wishes!!! Let’s start a girl band sister!! love you!!”
The pair love sharing content on social media together. On Wednesday (January 12) the duo strutted around the office to the delight of fans.
Law Roach On Zendaya’s Best Red Carpet Looks, Celine Dion’s “Titanic” Sweatshirt and A Rihanna-Approved Couture Moment
]
It’s no secret that Zendaya’s status as a style icon is thanks in part to her stylist Law Roach. In the past 10 years, the self-described “Image architect” went from a Chicago-based vintage fashion dealer to one of the Hollywood’s top stylists, a career that blossomed as his partnership with his closest client grew.
As the actress makes another round of red carpet and press appearances for the season 2 premiere of HBO’s “Euphoria,” Roach’s influence on Zendaya is apparent once again.
More from Footwear News
“I firmly believe that the universe puts me in people’s lives exactly when it is supposed to happen,” Roach told FN in November, for an interview and photo shoot to celebrate his Style Influencer awards at the 2021 FNAA. “When Zendaya and I started our journey, it was about being a chameleon. Her style is not having a style — it’s being able to do whatever she wants whenever she wants to do it. I think that’s a trend that I was at the forefront of.”
During Roach’s cover shoot, the stylist also got candid about his resumé highlights, curating a list of 10 of his most memorable looks throughout his career thus far. Zendaya tops the list, of course, in looks from Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Moschino, plus a shared red carpet moment at the Tommy x Zendaya runway show, held at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem during New York Fashion Week in September 2019.
Among the moments, Roach pointed to a 2018 appearance on the red carpet for “The Greatest Showman,” where Zendaya wore a butterfly-themed Moschino gown. “She’s in this dress that is a monarch butterfly. She was on the carpet doing an interview and a monarch butterfly came down and fluttered in front of her and touched down on her for a brief second. She turned around and said, ‘Did you see that?’”
Story continues
But the stylist also points to some of his other clients and the major moments they have worked to create, chief among them Celine Dion. It was Roach dressed the star for her 2017 Grammy Awards performance, in a white Stephane Rolland couture gown, belting out her iconic ballad “My Heart Will Go On” for the 20th anniversary of “Titanic.” “I’m standing back and I’m crying, and then I look around in the audience, and people are crying — like, grown men, rappers, are wiping away tears,” he said. “I actually go back and watch this performance on YouTube a lot.”
It was also Roach who put Dion in a Titanic-themed Vetements hoodie. During a visit to Paris during Couture Week, the singer was spotted leaving her hotel in the sweatshirt, which featured actors Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. “I think this look actually changed my career,” said Roach. “I was afraid to ask her what she thought about it because I thought she would think I was being cheesy. I finally got the courage to show it to her, I said, ‘What do you think?’ And she said, ‘What do you mean what do I think? I think it’s cool, I want to wear it today!’ That’s what it means to be a disruptor, you disrupt the way people see you.”
Roach even looks back on his own red carpet looks, including an appearance at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball in 2017, when the stylist wore a bold Schiaparelli couture look. “The ultimate compliment (was) when the bad girl herself walked up to me and she said, ‘What are you wearing? Are you wearing couture to my party? It’s fab.’ For Rihanna to walk across the room and to give you a compliment… that blew my mind. That’s how Rihanna is about clothes, though, if you’re fly, she’s going to tell you you’re fly. I think that’s why we love her.”
