NFL weather forecast for Raiders-Bengals Wild Card game, what it means for fantasy and betting
]
The Cincinnati Bengals return to the playoffs for the first time since 2015 and look to get their first win since they beat the Houston Oilers in the 1990 season. They hope to change that as favorites at home against the las Vegas Raiders, who have turned it on at the end of the season to earn a playoff spot.
Helpful weather resources include National Weather Service and Dark Sky, among others. Here’s a look at what the forecast in Cincinnati could mean for the Raiders-Bengals Wild Card matchup.
Raiders vs. Bengals weather forecast
UPDATE: There was snow Saturday morning, but it wasn’t enough to stick, per Raiders beat writer Tashan Reed. It’s going to be extremely cold, but the field should be dry for the game.

It’s not going to be warm in Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon, but for the most part, this game will be good weather for football. The temperature should be hovering around 31 degrees, just around freezing. The wind will be on average 10 mph and there is no precipitation in the forecast.
Fantasy/betting implications
No reason to chance your thoughts on how this game plays out based on the weather.
Cold temperatures during Bengals vs. Raiders game, possibility of snow Sunday, Monday
]
Temperatures will be very cold in Cincinnati Saturday afternoon as the Bengals face off against the Raiders in the NFL playoff game.
While forecasters predict there will be snow on Sunday, Saturday should remain dry.
Temperatures will reach a high near 32 during the day and will dip to a low around 19 overnight.
Light snow is expected Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. According to the National Weather Service, accumulations of an inch or two will be possible.
The heaviest snowfall will hit the southern and eastern Ohio Valley and along the Appalachian Mountains.
Additionally, snow showers are likely Monday morning into early afternoon. These snow showers may be accompanied by reduced visibility and may produce light accumulations of an inch or less.
NFL Weather Report and Forecast: Will the weather alter our DFS plans?
]
The NFL and the world of fantasy football head into Wild Card Weekend with our weekly weather report. Who doesn’t need more information to stress over? We break down the NFL slate, the weather forecast/report for Wild Card Weekend, and determine if any of your fantasy/DFS players could be impacted.
As always, good luck. Stay safe. And let’s win this week.
Note: All times are Eastern Time, and the Wild Card Weekend weather report will be updated if any changes happen from the time of writing to kickoff. The NFL weather forecast is based on National Weather Service reporting. All NFL odds are from the NFL’s official website.
NFL Weather Report and Forecast for Wild Card Weekend: Will the weather alter our DFS plans?
For those who had a successful 2021 fantasy football season, first off, congratulations, and second, it’s time to put those winnings back into the game with DFS. It’s free money, right? That’s what I tell myself if I lose. That’s not happening here, though, not on my watch. And certainly not because we became lax in our preparations and didn’t check the weather. So let’s dive into one of the best weekends in the NFL and see if the weather will have any impact on fantasy/DFS lineups.
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills (-4.5), O/U 44 | Saturday 8:15 PM ET
Since we last saw this matchup, the narrative had been the apparent crazy winter weather these teams will face, harking back to Week 13. Yes, it’s going to be cold — but that’s it weather-wise. Granted, it’s going to be frigid. The high for the game is around 6 degrees, but the wind chill will be around -6 degrees. With that said, we are expecting 8 mph winds, clear skies, and there is a 0% chance of precipitation.
That’s a substantial difference from the wind tunnel inside a hurricane wrapped around a tornado plus a Dyson fan on high that was Week 13. The DFS angle has to lean toward the Buffalo side of things. You could go with a Josh Allen ($7,800) and Stefon Diggs ($7,200) stack or run Devin Singletary ($5,700). He’s an interesting RB not getting included in conversations for some reason.
Singletary has rushed 80 times for 375 yards and 4 touchdowns in his last five games and caught 10 passes for 36 yards, making him the RB2 behind only Rashaad Penny over this stretch. No matter what DFS game you play, Singletary is one of my favorite starts this week.
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-8), O/U 46 | Sunday 1 PM ET
From a pure weather standpoint, Tampa will have the worst forecast of Wild Card Weekend. Temperatures will be mild as expected for Florida, around 67 degrees. The wind will increase during the game as well, starting at 9 mph and reaching 15 mph by the end of the game with 18 mph gusts.
Rain will come into the area overnight and last into the day. The heaviest rain is expected to end around noon, but a drizzle (0.02 in/hr) will continue within an hour of kickoff. However, it should clear out by kickoff, leaving us with a slightly soggy field and wind.

Patriots vs. Bills DraftKings DFS Picks: Top lineup includes Josh Allen, Damien Harris, and Dawson Knox
One of my favorite players of the entire Wild Card Weekend slate is Dallas Goedert at $4,500. Since Week 7 (after Zach Ertz was traded), Goedert leads the Eagles with 25.6% of the targets and 24.5% of the air yards. He is No. 2 in targets among TEs and one of just eight players at the position with over 24% of his team’s air yards. Over his last four games, Goedert has scored 13+ points three times (including two games with 20+).
Over that stretch, he’s averaged 5.3 receptions on 6.5 targets for 84.5 yards per game and scored 2 touchdowns. If you want to beat Tampa, you do it through the air. Goedert is the most consistent pass catcher for Philadelphia right now and deserves consideration in any lineup this weekend. He and Dalton Schultz ($5,500) are my top TE pivot options.
NFL Weather Report and Forecast for Wild Card Weekend: Worry-free weather
The clear weather forecast is a welcome sight for fantasy managers. With that said, there is a 100% chance of chaos.
Las Vegas Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals (-5), O/U 48 | Saturday 4:30 PM ET
A Bengals stack will be one of the most popular DFS lineups this weekend — and for good reason. Joe Burrow ($6,800) has been dealing, and Ja’Marr Chase ($7,400) is one of the NFL’s best deep threats. Why isn’t Tee Higgins ($6,300) being talked about in the same light?
In the Bengals’ eight home games, Higgins had 50 receptions on 67 targets, averaged 98.9 yards, and scored 5 of his 6 touchdowns. From a fantasy aspect, his points skyrocketed from 9.9 PPR on the road to 21.6 at home. Heck, on a per-game basis, Higgins has outscored Chase 18.4 to 17.1. I don’t get the $1,400 difference between the two on DraftKings, but I am more than happy to use it to my advantage.
Cincinnati’s Wild Card Weekend weather forecast should feature mostly cloudy skies, 9 mph winds, and highs near 33 degrees.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5), O/U 46 | Sunday 8:15 PM ET
A Corvette just pulled up at Heinz Field and will reportedly be ready for the TikTok Bowl as JuJu Smith-Schuster will take on Jackson Mahomes. There is also, I guess, some football to be played. I’m not calling it a game. That implies two evenly matched teams will take the field. This is nowhere close to that. In fact, the Steelers are the biggest underdogs in the NFL Wild Card Weekend history — they opened as 13-point road dogs and now sit at +12.5.
There has never been a spread this big in the Wild Card Round. EVER. The last time these teams faced off (Week 16), the Chiefs won 36-10, and Pittsburgh’s TD only came in garbage time at the end of the game. The Chiefs D/ST ($3,200) is the No. 2 priced option on the slate. In a game where we normally save money on our defense, eat the chalk and play them. In a weekend full of close games, this is not one of them. I like the KC D/ST to score a touchdown on the Steelers as well.
As for the weather forecast in Kansas City, expect clear skies, 9 mph winds, and 37 degrees at kickoff.
Wild Card Weekend indoor games
The teams below will play in optimal conditions, and there will be no effect on the passing and kicking games. This helps to eliminate at least one variable fantasy managers need to consider each week.
Winter Storms Warnings for the Tri-State
]
WINTER STORM WARNING for MASON & ADAMS counties starting Sunday at noon until 7 a.m. Monday. Expect accumulations around 3-5 inches.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for ROBERTSON, BRACKEN, BROWN, & HIGHLAND counties starting Sunday at noon until 7 a.m. Monday. Expect slick conditions as freezing rain is possible along with snow.
WHEN: Sunday afternoon is when rain starts moving in from the southeast to the rest of the Tri-State. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s to the low 40s until the evening hours. By 5-6 p.m. most of our temperatures will drop to the mid to low 30s. This is when most of the freezing rain and sleet will change over to snow.
IMPACTS: Slick roadways are possible once rain starts. Expect snow accumulations 3-5 inches in the southeast counties. Areas of Northern Kentucky into surrounding areas of Cincinnati will see accumulations 1-3 inches possible. To the northeast of those areas, totals get lower.
Sunday will be a 9 First Warning Weather Alert Day into Monday morning. We are expected snow to arrive for our Sunday afternoon into early parts of Monday. Sleet and freezing rain are expected, but are not going to make a huge impact on our overall totals.
After the snow moves out Monday, expect a slight warm up for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the low 40s. This is also when we’ll see another chance for rain. This does not look like a large event. Temperatures will then fall again halfway through the week to some upper 20s to low 30s, staying dry.
